Zac and Evelyn dragged Arrow towards the hostile looking door. She shouted at them "Get off ya big goofs!" Zac laughed walking in, Evelyn trailing behind him. Now, you may think that inside the hospital it was clean and fresh, indeed it was, but as the group walked on the halls grew darker and colder, wallpaper was peeling off the walls and a black mould grew upon the walls and the ceiling. Faint shrieking could be heard a few rooms ahead and Arrow became tired of the endless wandering about. Zac turned to Arrow "Maybe we will see some hot doctors!" He grinned, Arrow gave a long sigh before laughing. "Maybe Zac, Maybe."
As the group walked about the decaying halls more shrieking could be heard. Arrow could just about make out the words "get it off of me". She tilted her head in confusion. "You guys heard that too, right?" Evelyn nodded.
"Heard what?" Zac frowned. "Don't make up stuff to scare me guys." Arrow raised her eyebrow before looking down and seeing a large puddle of blood beneath her feet. "Ew gross!" Yelled out Evelyn as she eyed the puddle. Arrow knelt beside the puddle, poking it. It was warm, as if it had just been there for a couple of minutes.
"Harriet? What are you doing here?" She heard the familiar, masculine voice of her father from behind her.
"Dad?" Arrow turned around.
"It's dangerous! You must leave at once! And why did you bring your friends here?! You have placed them in danger!" Her dad scowled at her, growling slightly in the process.
"Oh heeeey Mr Woods!" Zac smiled mischievously, "It's not Arrows fault Sir, you see.. we uh.. had to find you because.. because.. uh we-" Arrow's father cut Zac off.
"You don't have to lie, Zac. But I suppose since you're here you better follow me. No one was supposed to be in here except for us.. and the boss. He will know what to do with you three." Arrow tilted her head, gritting her teeth. She hated her father so much that sometimes she wished she could kill him. He treated her like vermin at the very least. He hated her too. In fact he didn't just hate her, he hated her friends too. He even hated his wife. No one could deny the cruel hatred that Christopher Woods had for his daughter.
Arrow followed her father with clenched fists, Zac noticed and took her hand smiling at her. She found it amazing how such a simple action could mean so much. A simple word could kill someone. A smile could fill someone with joy and even give them life. Evelyn followed glumly behind the two, for they did not know Evelyn's true nature. She was exactly like Arrow's father, but worse. Her skin was always cold to the touch, just like her cold icy heart. She was disgusted by Zac and Arrow. They never included her. She used to be such a bright little girl, always smiling, always laughing, until Arrow came along and ruined it for her. She was in love with Zac - and she still is! - she hated the fact that he was gay and that they could never be together, she hated Arrow for helping him find out that he was gay but most of all she hated Arrow in general. Everything about her, her green eyes, her stunning features, her perfect body, her long ginger hair, her voice and her personality. She hated how perfect she was and how good at everything she could do. That was why she had to kill her.Arrow's father lead them to a dark, grey room. The walls were splattered with blood and dust covered the broken floorboards that scattered the floor in pieces. Shards of a mirror lay out, waiting to attack and make someone bleed if they touched it. "Here we are. Wait there." Christopher glared at his daughter and her friends before walking off to another room. Arrow sighed, holding back the tears. Zac tilted his head. "Maybe your dad has surprise cake?" He grinned at Arrow's quiet laugh. "Knowing my dad, not likely." She smiled weakly, not noticing Evelyn clenching her fists. She was standing well away from the two as so that she didn't strike her revenge plan on Arrow just yet.
"Harriet my dear! What are you doing here?" Her mother rushed out, hugging Arrow. Arrow's mother was nothing like her Father. Kathryn Woods had eyes filled with a childish like wonder and to her, life was like a fairy tale. She did not realise how abusive her husband was and frankly, loved him too much. She always had a smile upon her face and never frowned. She had short ginger hair, cut at the shoulders and pale blue eyes. Her accent was very posh and her voice was loud and clear.
"Should we tell her?" Her father grunted.
"I suppose so my dear." Kathryn smiled at her husband before turning to Arrow, "Now my beautiful daughter, this may come across as possibly such of a shock to you and you may not accept that this is real. Your father and I-"
"Oh forget it Kath! You take way too long to explain! I'll do it." Christopher growled.
"Oh yes, I suppose so my dear." Kathryn smiled vaguely.
"We work for a company that deals with rare diseases. At the moment we are working on finding a cure for a parasite that crawls into a persons brain and turns them into.. well let's put it this way, a mindless zombie."
Arrow tilted her head "Yeah right dad I soo believe you. Now tell me the truth on what you-" Christopher slapped his daughter round the head. Arrow stumbled backwards falling into Zac's arms. She growled at her father, the hatred in his eyes was like a consuming fire that made you want to stay and watch it.
"You wanna see patient zero? Follow me you little shit." Her father growled at her, leading the group towards a room. "This is patient zero." Arrow stepped in the room, greeted by the smell of rotting flesh. A man was strapped to a chair, his skin extremely pale, facing the ground. Arrow stepped towards him. He looked up at Arrow, instantly trying hard to break the chains to grab her, Zac pulled her back in protection. The man's eyes were white, and stale, dried blood hung about his mouth. Arrow leant against Zac's chest and he put his arms around her in a hug. She felt safe with him. He was like the older brother she had always wanted.
"Say hello to patient Zero, Harriet."
