My Geek Romance

Chapter 1

Okay, one more page! I think to myself.

I was in the middle of the third book of my favourite series, Percy Jackson. I am obsessed with this series. The problem is is that I have to go to school and I needed to get ready or my mom won't give me a ride.

After I finish the page I finally get myself to get changed. I put on my uniform, brushed my teeth and grab a chocolate bar. I know it isn't heathy but whatever. Before I leave, I manage to put my book in my bag.

As I walk inside my school I look for my two best friends, Paige and Lily. I've been friends with them since elementary school, they know me better than I know myself.

Paige was the artsy type, but still a little rebel. And Lily was this loud, crazy girl, who loves to sing and a hopeless romantic, she's obsessed with getting a boyfriend. Lily couldn't stand the fact that Paige had not only a boyfriend but a really cute one as well.

" Zoe!" I hear Lily's voice behind me.

" Hey Lily. Where's Paige?" I ask wondering why Paige isn't here.

" She's with Andrew." She rolled her eyes.

" Oh" I reply " well we better get to class"

" Ya, we should"

I sit in history class bored out of my mind, all I'm thinking about is my book, I need to read. I pull my book out of my bag, and start reading.

Before I know it, the bell rings.

" Oh my gosh, your reading Percy Jackson! I love that book?" I hear a voice from behind me say

" Ummmm, you are...?" I ask wondering who the heck this is.

" Oh I'm Logan, you know like the guy who plays Percy Jackson in the movies" he replies proudly.

" Oh hi, I'm Zoe, and yes I do read Percy Jackson, it's one of my favourite series!"

" That's so cool, I've never really met a cute girl who reads Percy Jackson. Anyways it was nice meeting you." He says as he leaves the classroom. I turn my head and blush, why wouldn't I. A boy just called me cute. I mean I never thought that would happen. I had my dark hair pulled back in a high ponytail with absolutely no makeup on, why would he think I'm cute?

I head to my second period and I can't help think that about Logan. Logan had green eyes with light brown hair in a quiff. I have to admit, he was cute. As I continue to think about Logan, I bump into someone.

"Hey! Watch where you're g-!" Then I notice who it was. It's James, James was Lily's brother, who, did I mention is her twin brother. That's right, Lily has a twin brother.

"James!" I reply with a hug.

"Hey, Zoe. I haven't seen you in a while!"

" I know right"

" Well, I would love to talk but I gotta get to class." He says as he picks up my books that fell on the ground.

"Thanks" I reply as he gives me my books, " I'll see you later, James."

As I head for the bus stop after school, I spot Paige and Andrew, and of course they're making out.

"Hey! Let's keep this PG!" I shout.

They finally stop kissing and see me. They looked annoyed, as if I was wrecking the moment. Paige puts a smile on her face and starts to walk towards me, and Andrew follows.

" Hey Zoe. What's up?" She asks as Andrew still looked annoyed.

" Nothing much" I hear an awkward silence coming on, "well I guess I'll let you guys be since it looks like you need to get back to something."

" Ya we kind of do" Paige exchanges looks with Andrew, and she blushes.

I was about to turn and walk away when I hear Andrew say something " Zoe, are you going to Nathan's party on Saturday?"

Nathan's the same age as me, he's in my English class, and I heard about his party but I didn't know if I wanted to go.

"Umm, I don't know, are you?"

"Ya, we're going, you should come with us" he offers me. Andrew was always a nice guy, and I'm really happy that he's making Paige happy too.

" Thats really nice of you Andrew, thanks."

I'm freaking out. I don't know what to do. I just finished my book and I need to get my next book! Luckily my mom was home and maybe she could take me.

" Mom, can you take me to Chapters, I need it get a book?" I asked giving my mom puppy dog eyes.

"Actually, yes, I need to go there anyways, we'll go after dinner" my mom answers as she continues to cook dinner.

Yes. This is perfect.

" But you do realize that you're paying for this book of yours with your own money." She adds.

Crap. I'm totally broke. I can't pay for the book.

"Do I have too?" I reply raising an eyebrow. " I'm broke"

" Well you should have thought of that before you asked me, Zoe you're 16, I think it's time you get a job."

" WHAT?" I say surprised.

" Fine, I'll make you a deal. I'll pay for your book if you'll get a job." She offers.

" Deal"

We shake hands and I go back upstairs.

I've been looking for 10 minutes now and I still can't find that damn book. I finally decide to ask a worker. I see the back of a boy with a Chapters work shirt on, and I figure he probably works here.

I tap on his shoulder and he turns around. I recognized his face.

"Logan?"......
