Rinnia stood at the window, gazing into the far horizon. She heard a scratching at the door and turned around to see a bunch of mail lying at the foot of the door. 'Rinnia! Get the mail would you?' Called her mother. Rinnia's family had always been caring and strived to look after their adopted only daughter well. Rinnia scooped up the mail and sorted it onto the hall table. 'Mum, mum, mum, dad, Rinnia, dad, dad, wait what?! A letter for me? Rinnia Tassel?' Rinnia took the creamy parchment envelope and read the label. 'Hogwarts School For Witchcraft And Wizardry.' It read in fancy cursive. 'Oh my!' Rinnia exclaimed. 'Witchcraft and Wizardry, it can't be!' Rinnia examined the letter closely, making sure it wasn't a trick. 'It seems pretty legitimate to me.' Rinnia thought as she flipped it over. 'What's taking you Rinnia!' Called her mum. She scooped up the pile of letters and skipped into the kitchen, clutching her letter tightly to her chest. She handed the bunch of letters to her mum but kept her envelope tucked inside her shirt. 'Thanks sweetie.' Her mum mumbled but Rinnia was already racing upstairs to her bedroom. Rinnia flung herself into her canopy four poster bed and pulled the curtains around her mattress. She carefully opened the envelope, easing the wax Hogwarts seal apart from the parchment. The parchment inside seemed even older and more fragile than the flimsy envelope. The same fancy cursive writing addressed the top of the letter. 'Hogwarts, what a peculiar name.' As she unfolded the parchment. The letter read '(Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., CHF. Warlock, Supreme Mugwumps, International Confed. Of Wizards)
Dear Miss Tassel,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.' Then there was a large list of course books and uniform for first years. 'PARENTS ARE REMINDED THAT FIRST YEARS ARE NOT ALLOWED THEIR OWN BROOMSTICKS.' Rinnia looked at the bottom of the letter, confused. Why aren't broomsticks allowed? Are we not allowed to clean there? Rinnia dismissed the thought and hugged the letter to her chest. As much as she loved her parents, they were very overprotective, in every way. She wasn't allowed a phone because of the cyber bulling going on, at least one parent had to be with her everywhere she went incase of kidnapping (except for when she was at home and school), she wasn't allowed home alone, and she had only had catchups and sleepovers with her closest friends (and her Granny). 'This could be my chance to finally live a normal life!' Rinnia thought happily. But Rinnia could never have a normal life, not with her biological father being the one and only Harry Potter.
