I screamed and sat up, drenched in sweat and terrified, my breath was rapid and my heart pounded in my chest. I looked around my room to see it was still dark. Grabbing my phone and checking the time..3:15am. That's been the third or fourth time I've had that dream, It's just so odd and vivid.

Hopefully I didn't wake up anyone so they don't send a complaint to the landlord. Getting kicked out of this place would just be another one of my troubles.

After my heart finally went back to its normal rate, I tried to go back to sleep. My boss has been noticing I've been slacking off at work lately and it's because of all my lack of sleep, college and hours he makes me work.

I really want to stick my shoe up that guys ass.

I groaned, flipping my pillow over to the cool side, thinking of how work is going to be tomorrow, being a bartender/ waitress and all. Nothing better than dealing with druggies, creeps and drunks. Totally living the good life..not.

Oh and by the way I am Amelia Winters. But you can just call me Amy.

I rushed through the back door of the bar, going into the bathroom and quickly changing. I was taking a nap when I lost track of time and woke up too late..my boss is going to kill me.

Changing into black shorts and a red tank top, I tied my apron around my waist and threw my hair into a pony tail. I quickly put on more eyeliner, mascara and signature red lipstick.

I opened the door..running into my boss. "There you are! Your shift started 10 minutes ago. What the hell do you think your doing?!" He yelled into my face.

I decided to quickly make up a lie, since telling him that I overslept sounded kind of stupid. "I am really sorry sir, but my car was having difficulties starting and-" "that's enough". His face was still red with anger, "this is your last chance Amy. If you mess up again then your done. Now get your ass out there it's busier then hell".

I nodded my head quickly, he then pointed for the entrance. I walked towards it as I smoothed out my apron and tried to pull down my shorts, god these "uniforms" were a joke. I fixed my hair and braced myself for what was to come.

I opened the door as music erupted into my ears and strobe lights were going off, slightly blinding me. There was laughter and voices that could be heard from all areas of the building, people were dancing like animals and two girls in cages were stripping in the front.

I went behind the bar, when someone grabbed my arm. Immediately I spun around turning to whoever had me in their hold...meeting a pair of grey eyes..Brian. He was one of the people that worked here and I guess you could say, he was the only one that I really was friends with. "Slow down there, your wanted to waitress right now".

"Holy shit Brian, don't do that" I pulled my arm away from him. "Sorry, I thought that if I didn't catch you now, you would probably get in trouble again" he laughed "Thanks" I said in relief "no problem" he then walked off to take an order for someone's drink.

I then went around as I took people's orders.

It's been only two hours and it feels like I have been working the entire night. I then went for my break so I could relax a bit before going off again. I went to the back to see Brian putting on his jacket. "Is your shift ending?" I asked, "yeah my hours got changed so that I am not working my last hour with you" "so I have to survive on my own" I groaned.

"You'll be fine" Brian chuckled, "that's what you think" I rubbed my temples trying to ease my stress. "I know you, you can stand your own" Brian hoisted his backpack onto his back. "I guess, but not when I am this stressed".
