Lately republic city is being terrorized by a group called the equalists. Now all benders are fearing Amon, the leader and right now you're undercover. You are just the normal firebender girl, just a bit more trained.
"So (Y/n) what do you think about the Equalists?" The boy in front of you asked. Your friends forced you to go on this blind date, but you kept complaining that you weren't straight.
"I think they are very interesting, and they have a good chance on winning this war. I completely support them!" You lied, earning a smile from the non-bender in front of you.
"Good! Did you know I'm one of the chi-blockers. It's a very good cause." He said.
You talked for the rest of the night and you two then parted.
"Well good night. I had so much fun, we should meet up soon." He said cheerfully.
You nodded and headed home. When you got your apartment you hear yelling and huge thuds. You ran to where to sound was coming from, and pushed through the crowd. You saw Tarlock and the avatar arguing about something and soon, the police blended the metal bars around the crowd and lofted them off the ground.
"Hey, put us down!" One non-bender yelled, as you jumped out of the metal ring, with a little bit of fire power.
You got the attention of the police and they circled you.
"Korra, there's a bender!" A girl yelled. She was a very beautiful girl with long black hair, and a red suit. She was to far from you to see her eyes, but something attracted you to her.
"Okay thanks." The avatar said, as she push through the police circle. Her friends joined, or at least her co-workers. There was two boys, one had messy black hair and earth bender clothes while the other had more sleek hair, a gray coat and a red scarf. There was also this Asami girl too.
"What are you doing? I can protect myself. Just duck." You said as politely, but made it so the police couldn't hear. They all nodded and ducked.
You created a fire dome around the group and fired fire ball at the police, making sure to not hurt the non-benders.
Soon after you hit all of the police you stopped the fire dome and stood up straight.
"Ah! What happeneded to your eyes!" The avatar yelled.
"Your eyes are on fire!" One boy said. He looked familiar but you couldn't put your finger on it.
"What do you mean?" You asked clearly concerned.
While you talked you didn't notice one police officer bend a piece of metal and hit you in the head.
You were knocked out, but the last thing you heard was the avatar yelling.
When you work you saw black haired girl sitting on the side of the bed looking at you.
"Huh? What happened? Where are we?" You asked, quickly siting up and looked around.
You soon realized you had a bandage on your left eye and looked at the girl in front of you.
"Calm down. First let me know your name. I'm Asami." She said calmly.
"I-I'm (Y/n). So where are we?" You asked becoming a bit more calm.
"We are on air temple island. After you got knocked out, Korra attacked the police, and accidentally hit your eye, while fighting. We left with you and brought you here to heal." She said. You stare to get off the bed, but your legs gave out. You fell, onto your knees and Asami quickly came to your side.
"Are you okay? Here let me help. Just stay here." She said as she put you on the bed and left the room. She came back with a weird exoskeleton.
"Put this around your wast and it will help you walk. I made it myself. I tried it out and it work like a charm. It's the sleekest model." She said, and handed it to you. You put around your waist and it powered on. You went to stand up, and it worked. It felt as if your legs were stronger.
"Okay, let's go talk to Korra." Asami said, and lead you through the building.
You soon met up with the avatar and you bowed down.
"No, please don't bow. I just have a few questions to ask if that's okay." Korra said.
"Okay, ask away." You said.
"Okay so first off what is your name?" Korra asked.
"(Y/n)."
"Okay, how were your eyes on fire?"
".... What? My eyes were on fire?" You asked completely confused.
"Yeah. When you where fighting your eyes went on fire. Not many people can do that, but there are multiple way for it to happen." Korra said, softly.
"How?"
"Usually it happens when a fire bender has mastered fire bending, even most avatars aren't as powerful in fire as them, or the fire bender has had a rough past, it sounds like a story made up, and only a few believe you....But both ways you have to be very powerful." She said.
"Well I'm not powerful, trust me.... But.... I have had a hard childhood." You said, remembering your past. When you were younger your parents would hit you and train you like crazy. One day, a weird spirit like thing came into the village and attacked your parents and killed your entire village exempt you. You just remember the fury in the monster's eye as you watched it kill you parents.
"You don't have to share it if your not willing. Anyways, all the apartments were broken down were we were, so if you want you can stay with us." Korra said.
"Okay thank you." You said in a daze.
"I'll introduce you to the others." She said.
You nodded and followed her around the island. You kept thinking about your family and your past while you walked. You then entered a room where council men Tensin was, with his family. Asami and the two boys that where there that night were there too.
"Hello (Y/n). I'm Tensin. Asami told us your name. I hope we can get to know each other more." Tensin said, and shook your hand.
"I'm Bolin and this in my brother Mako. " The messy haired one said.
"I'm Melo! Gee you are a pretty ladie!" A bald boy said. (Sorry if I spell the names wrong.)
"Thanks." You said, trying your best to sound cheerful.
"I'm Ikky and this it Jenora." A you be girl said.
"I'm Padima. The mother of this bothersome group." A lady said. She seemed to be pregnant but you didn't want to be rude.
"Well I hope I get to know you all very well." You said a bit to cheerfully.
"I... Um... I'm going to rest so if you can, can you please lead me to a room?" You asked. Asami walked up and lead you to a guest room.
"Hey, you seemed really down are you okay?" Asami asked.
"It's just, I was thinking about my past." You said being honest.
You two stayed quiet for a bit, until Asami kissed you on the cheek.
"Sweet dreams, (Y/n)." She said and quickly walked out.
You layed on your bed and thought of Asami until you fell into a dreamless sleep.
I am make a part 2 some time soon. I know this is a book of oneshots but I don't want to make this too long. So I may make another story and then continue this story, or maybe I'll finish this first.... I don't know. Anyway hope you enjoyed.
