Ian

I ran into my class and tried to stop blushing. Deep breaths, Ian. Then I realized I everyone in the room was staring at me. "Uh.. there was.. a there was a pack of ghosts and.. uh.. I'll go sit down now...."

I sat down, my face burning hot. Why did the worst things happen to me?

After History, I pushed through the sea of people and finally reached my locker. Inside, sat my math book. I picked up the hardback book and slammed my locker shut. I looked both ways down the hall, and saw him. He stood talking to another guy, tall, skinny, kinda cute... Luke, I think? Anyways, he stood talking to E ( E... such a cute simple nickname... ahhh) and he made some sort of gesture with his hands and E laughed, and looked down the hall. His eyes landed on me and he blushed and looked away. I did the same, then slowly looked back over at him. E's eyes kept glancing over at me and then back to his friend.

My heart was trying to escape from my rib cage, it was beating so hard. Did he like me? Does he think I'm weird from what happened earlier? Erghhh guys are so confusing.

A few hours later, after Algebra, Chemistry and English, it was finally lunch time. I sighed as I set my bag down at a table and threw my self into a chair. My friend, Raymond, looked at me and grinned. "Dude, guess what?!"

"What?"

"I asked Lacey out, and she said yes!"

"Oh cool. Where are you gonna take her?"

"I dunno yet. I gotta ask her where she wanna go. Movies are stupid."

"Dude, your first date was at a movie."

"So? That don't mean I gotta like movies."

"Jerk."

"Bitch."

I laughed at him. Our friend, Mace came over and set his lunch on the table. Today, lunch was a hamburger and greasy fries with canned green beans on a plate. Eck.

I leaned back in my chair as Mace and Ray started up a conversation on a new movie that's coming out. Name's Monster or somethin' like that. I scanned the cafeteria and finally, I found him. Sitting next to Luke and a couple other guys. One, Cass, had a bowl on his head and held a spork and was sword- I mean, SPORK fighting another guy with green dyed hair. Green Hair I didn't know, but he wore this awesome Metallica shirt, so I decided I liked him (as a friend. Not like that. You nasties.)

E also had a bowl on his head, but I could see green bean remains in his hair, and Luke was doubled over laughing. I smiled. E looked cute, even with the green beans in his hair. He had a adorkable smile on his face, and he was picking green beans out of his hair and throwing them at Luke and Cass and Green Hair. His hoodie sleeves were rolled up to past his elbow, and I could see part of his bicep. Gods above, he was so cute.

"Earth to Ian?" said a voice. "This is space station 3, come in Ian?"

I blinked out of my trance. Mace was waving his hand in front of my face, and Ray was snapping his fingers.

"Hey bro, are you back on Earth now?" asked Mace. "You went all rooster on me."

"What the hell does that mean?"

"It means that you went all blank faced and glassy eyed, like a rooster when you pick them up and lay them down on their back."

"Dude, you got to much time."

Mace stood for Mason, and Mace lived on a farm. He has chickens, ducks, horses, cows, and more. They even have a emu pen. The farm has been in his family for years, since the 1810's. The property is really nice, and I could explore for hours.

I resumed staring at E, but still tuning in to the conversation at hand. Mace and Ray were talking about a new video game that was coming out, and it sounded interesting. It was about a zombie apocalypse, with lighting fast zombies, but their weakness was fire and decapitation.

The bell rang, and the lunch room turned in to chaos. High schoolers every where shoved their way through the crowd to reach their friends. I got one last glimpse at E before he was swallowed by they crowd.

Two hours later, I was outside with Ray, just talking a about the Drake's new win at the high school game last Friday. I wasn't really paying any attention. I was daydreaming about... you guessed it, Emmanuel.

Then I realized Ray was staring at me, waiting for something I guess.

"Uh, sorry Ray," I said sheepishly. "What did you say?"

"I asked if you're gonna go to the Spring Fling. We need to get you a date, man." Ray responded. "I can tell you're into someone, cause you've been distracted all day. Who the lucky lady?"

"Uh.. no one?"

"Aw, come on man. There's gotta be someone."

"Fine, there is someone, but I ain't gonna tell you."

"I'm cool with that."

I rolled my eyes. Ray cold be such a weirdo sometimes. Someday, I want to know what goes on in his mind.

There! I saw a purple sleeve out of the corner of my eye. I turned. There stood E, looking as adorable as always. I glanced at him, and then looked away, and then looked back at him.

He stood with his friend Cass and Green Hair. No, scratch that. Metallica. He stood with Cass and Metallica, laughing about something. He just so happened to look up right into my eyes. We both blushed, then looked away, but looked at each other again. I gave a small smile and a little howdy y'all wave, and he looked surprised. Then he waved back, and but then Ray moved and blocked my view.
