Anna shut the cabin door and took me over to a bench in the playing field.
"Sir, now." She hissed, pointing to the bench. I obeyed and sat down on the wooden plank. She sat next to me and grabbed my hand, looking into my eyes.
"What's your problem?" I asked, looking into her eyes with confusion.
Anna tipped her head back and sighed then looked at me again.
"Listen to me, you need to stop hanging around with Brooke." Anna warned me, her eyes steely and dead serious. I felt intimidated suddenly.
"Why is everyone so against Brooke?" I sighed.
"Your a fool if you don't see what she wants from you!" Anna hissed, pointing to the cabin. I was so confused.
"Please just tell me what the hell is going on?" I pleaded. "Please just tell me..so I can understand." I smiled at her. She nodded and looked away for a moment, before looking back at me.
"Brooke is using you." Anna said with a frown. I was taken aback.
"What??" I spluttered loudly.
"She's gonna get you in a lot of trouble Allison, she's gonna use you for her own gain." Anna sighed, sucking her gums in frustration with me.
"Well, uh, thanks." I smiled fakely at Anna, remembering what Brooke had told me about the girls. Who the hell do I believe if I'm being told two different stories?!
"And before long, you will realise your error and Brooke, well, she won't let you leave her." Anna told me further. "And she will make your life a living hell." Anna finished. I looked out at the playing fields and thought about Brooke. Was she really like that? I didn't wanna believe it.
"She did it to me, but if your stupid enough to fall for her tricks, good luck Allison." Anna added, I looked at her.
"I really think we should all give her a chance, back at the river she protected me, and she-"
Anna cut me off.
"You don't see it, do you?" Anna spat, losing her patience with me.
"I just think you should give her a shot!" I argued angrily. Anna nodded.
"We all gave her a shot." She whispered.
"Oh."
"Bye rookie." She sighed, walking away from me and back towards the cabin.
I felt so low, I turned around and lay my head on the table of the picnic bench hopelessly. I picked myself back up and stood up, brushing myself off as the sun started to set behind the hills.
Suddenly I felt hands on my hips. I gasped and turned around.
"Allison it's me, Dustin! Calm down." He hurriedly said, retreating his hands from my hips.
"What the hell?" I gasped as our eyes met. Oh, he was looking for Brooke.
"Brooke's in the cabin." I added, pointing to the correct one for him.
"I'm not here for Brooke." He said quietly. I heard footsteps coming and looked around in panic, hurriedly running behind the massive shed that the camp had to store all the track things.
"What the living hell are you here for then?" I hissed in alarm as I heard the footsteps fading as I peered cautiously around the end of the shed.
"I wanted to see you, actually." He chuckled. I bit my lip.
"Jesus Christ, whoever put you up to this is really funny." I sighed. "Go back to your camp, Dustin." I told him. He smirked at me playfully.
"Nah," He said casually. "No fun over there." He added as he pulled a leaf from a tree and started ripping it in his hands. I looked at him as if he was insane.
"Are you mad?" I hissed. "We are gonna get in so much trouble if we get caught." I added lowly.
"That's why I wanna do this, the risk makes it more fun, right?" He chuckled as he ruffled his brown hair.
"Not for me, Dustin. You have a girlfriend!" I imagined Brooke's horror if she saw us doing this. Dustin laughed.
"Yeah but she's way too protective, I feel a real connection with you." He purred. I rolled my eyes at his romantic bullshit.
"Your mad, go back to your camp Dustin." I told him strictly.
"Ooh, dominant. I like that." He purred and winked at me. I walked away in disgust but his hand grabbed my wrist and he yanked me back to him.
"Oh no you don't." He chuckled as I fell against his chest. I pulled away from him and wiped myself off.
"Seriously Dustin, go home." I told him. We both heard footsteps coming and I figuratively was shitting myself, oh god. We were cornered; hid behind a shed.
"Hello?"
Brooke. This is a nightmare.
"Ally?" Brooke laid eyes on me. Then Dustin. Her face turned to thunder faster than Road Runner running from Wile Coyote.
"What the fuck are you doing?" She hissed, throwing me an accusing look.
"I came to see you, babe." Dustin cut in, walking towards Brooke and putting his arm around her, my face dropped.
"No you didn't." She spat. "Your sneaking around with Ally, aren't you?" She asked, seemingly broken.
"Brooke, I can explain." He started. I shook my head.
"I told him to go home, but he wouldn't." I said honestly, remembering Anna's advice earlier on.
"What?!" Brooke raged, I watched her hand fly out from her side and whack against Dustins face. I gasped and recoiled as Dustin held his face and groaned in pain.
"Ow!" He shouted, rubbing his jaw.
"We are over." She declared to him. He rolled his eyes. Brooke took my hand and ran away with me.
Suddenly, a deep voice was heard.
"Girls. Stop right there." The voice boomed deeply, I immediately identified it as Mr Tomlinsons voice, it had that unmistakable sexy edge to it.
Brooke and me froze.
"Run!" She hissed, pushing me towards a cabin, I bolted with Brooke beside me, what the fuck was I doing?!
"Go! Go!!" She pushed on, hearing thumping footsteps behind us in the darkness.
"Stop right there girls!" A slightly out of breath Mr Tomlinson said strictly from behind us. Suddenly I fell over and landed on the grass, scraping my arm and my upper leg, I felt the blood trickle down my thigh. Brooke gasped and panicked, she bolted off and left me sat in the grass in the dark. A shadow came above mine, towering and intimidating.
Fuck.
"Allison." Mr Tomlinson snapped. I stood up and winced slightly, looking into his eyes.
"What the heck are you playing at?" He asked me, his chest rising and falling as he caught his breath back. I sighed.
"It's complicated, sir." I said reasonably. He looked me up and down and I then noticed what he was wearing. Adorable pyjamas. I liked him like this, less serious, more human Like and less of a control freak. A red shirt and matching tartan grey and white trousers.
"Jesus," He exclaimed tiredly, running his hand through his hair. "Firstly, are you alright?" He asked me.
I nodded. He raised an eyebrow at me, judging my lying skills, but they must have been good today because he didn't press any further.
"Brooke, was that?" He asked me. I debated wether to dob her in or not, but I nodded anyway.
"Yeah." I sighed. He nodded.
"Alright, you better get back to your cabin and get some sleep. We will discuss this tomorrow, you will hear about it at breakfast no doubt." He said, walking alongside me to my cabin.
"And Brooke will probably end up worse than you, she ran off." He said, smiling at me. I smiled too.
"Alright, goodnight Allison." He said as we arrived outside my cabin.
"Night, Mr Tomlinson." I said, walking into my cabin and watching him walk away.
I sighed and slumped on my bed, almost immediately I fell asleep.
I couldn't help but wonder why Brooke dashed away and left me like that. She never had before, and it made me wonder if her true colours were really starting to show. Le sigh.
