Lev’s head snapped up at the sound of his vanished mate’s name. He thought he had sensed her, but he ignored it, as his mind always played tricks with his senses, and now his best friend was saying her name?

Lev sighed wearily as he ran a hand through his brown locks.

“Damien, you know it hurts when I think about her. Please stop joking,” Lev all but pleaded.

“No,” Damien said shaking his head, “She’s here. Peyton’s here!” He pointed to a table on the other side of the food court, but with their werewolf vision, they could see it perfectly.

Lev’s eyes widened as he took in the sight before. There was his mate, in all her sexy glory, chatting away with a brunette across the table. She was the same, nothing changed about her. Her long blonde hair was till her middle-back and he remembered running his hands through that silky blonde hair. She hadn’t grown an inch and he gave a small laugh, glad he could still call her pixie.

Brent, Jay, and Damien looked at their friend in awe. That was first time Lev had laughed since Peyton left him broken-hearted. Sure, Lev had smiled but all of them were fake and forced. He was always in his own world, were Peyton never left him.

Damien had never wanted a mate, after what happened to Lev, but now just the sight of his angel made him eager for more. He didn’t even know her name but he knew he would find out somehow. A goofy smile spread on his lips as he watched his mate from afar. His mate threw her head back and laughed showing her smooth neck. He imagined his mark on her neck and just the thought made him hard. She didn’t even know he was alive and yet he yearned for her touch.

As the two girls sat down in the food court, Lia watched Peyton sniff the air and stiffen. Lia raised an eyebrow but didn’t say anything as she sniffed the air. She didn’t smell anything except……… except the most wonderful smell!

She closed her eyes and almost let out a moan right here. It smelled of aftershave and the woods, and it was absolutely the best thing she ever smelled. She turned her head franticly trying to find the owner of the smell when she met and excruciating gaze at the other side of the court. The man was only one word: gorgeous. He had midnight black hair that had the I-just-came-out-of-bed-look and was slightly spiked in the front. He was lean and muscular, and even though he was sitting down, she could make out his abs through the thin white material that clung to his body.

“Are you Okay Lee?” This time it was Peyton asking the question.

“Yeah I’m fine.” Lia nodded and smiled, “You just probably don’t want to know what’s going on in my mind!”

Peyton forced a small laugh not wanting to upset her friend, while Lia threw her head back and laughed for effect. Lia doubted Peyton really did want to know what dirty thoughts she was thinking. Her brain was clouded of pictures of the mystery man’s hand traveling all over her body…

“Eww gross Lia! Stop thinking those thoughts.” Peyton exclaimed while covering her nose.

Lia eyes widened. “Did I say something?”

“No, but  your turned on scent explained it all. You are definitely turned on my something… or someone,” Peyton said wiggling her eyebrows inquiring something.

“Oh shut up Pey!” Lia exclaimed, waving her hand dismissively, and heat traveled up to her face. Lia turned her head back to the hot stranger to find him still staring at her with a smug smile. Oh God, how she wished she could wipe that stupid smile off his handsome face, maybe by kissing it. ‘Stupid Lia, no bad thoughts,’ she mentally scolded herself as she turned back to her blonde friend. Peyton was intently focusing on something in the background but she let it go and went to throw her smoothie, she had bought, in the garbage. The whole time she felt a heated gaze on her back... or maybe her ass. When she returned to the table, Peyton was already standing up and picking up all her shopping bags.
