Okay guys, first thing's first: really big thank you to all my fans who've stuck by me. I'm working on a new story, and no promises this time. We'll see how it goes. All I can tell you is that I have six chapters so far completed and I'm updating it every other day if I can. I promise to try not to leave you hanging again. Self-editing this time (something I normally don't do) so go easy on me okay? But any errors please tell me.

Okay so, enjoy my story. Title is temporary, I'm not the best at titles >.< so if you have any idea what would be good for this than don't hesitate to tell me!

Chapter One:

Nadia

Blue Shout-Outs makes a mean Purple Berry Blast smoothie, I mused. Here for a day and a half and my very first task? I just had to try Blue Shout-Outs ‘world famous’ smoothies. From across the room I spotted Elsa Fowler running around serving tables. She was cute, her little brown ponytail flopping around as she jogged from table to table. Come to think of it, when did ponytails make a comeback? Have I been away from civilization for that long?

“Hmm,” I mumbled aloud stirring the jumbo straw through the little bit of smoothie remains. “Waitress,” I called half-heartedly. Elsa turned to me giving me feeble smile.

“Yes, miss? Can I give you your bill now?” she asked as politely as she could. I smirked.

            “Actually, I’d like a refill,” I say.

“Fine,” she said clearly annoyed. She bends over, grabs my cup and turns to go but I stop her.

“You guys do the whole free refill thing, don’t you?” I ask her even though I know the answer.

“Yes,” she hisses. She sounds like a snake when she does and I can’t help but laugh. She glares at me and walks off. I’m going to have so much fun with her.

I put the money on the table when I see her walk into the kitchen, and I leave. Outside, I see Tristan throwing his baseball up in the air and catching it with ease. “Thinking about going pro?” I tease.

He rolls his eyes at me. “Ready to go?” he asks. “Are you done stalking that Eliza girl?”

“Elsa,” I correct him. “And, yes…for now…so take me home!” I wave my arms like I’m presenting a fabulous game show prize instead of his used Honda Accord.  He rolled his eyes at me and hopping into his Honda.

I turned to him. “You know you’re gonna have to drive me to school tomorrow right? And then to Blue Shout-Outs afterwards, of course.”

“Oh, of course,” he says sarcastically. “What is the point of stalking this Elsa girl again?”

“If I haven’t told you before, why the hell would I tell you now?” I asked innocently. He groaned but let it lie. He knew I wouldn’t tell him until I was ready.

“So are you coming to school with me tomorrow?” I asked trying to change the subject.

“Yeah, gotta watch out for you. I worry Nadia,” he says.

I groaned and turned so I was looking directly at him. “You don’t have to worry so much, now that I’ve officially shifted I’m stronger.”

He grunted. “Not too thrilled about that either,” He’s pulling up to our new house now. “I don’t want you shifting here. This isn’t like Lockwood; there are too many people to see.”

I nod, only half-listening now. The house still amazes me. It’s got two floors (three if you count the underground cellar) and it’s still bigger than any house I’ve ever been in.

He pulls up the long driveway and no sooner does the car stop than I’m jumping out. “Well, I’m a little tired so…” in a blur I was in the house, and in my room.

My room; that felt so weird to say. I mean, I’ve never had my own room before. The theme, which was there when I’d arrived, was zebra print. Zebra lamps, and zebra wallpaper, and zebra bed sheets-everything zebra. Either this girl’s been listening to Michael Jackson a lot or she had some weird zoo/zebra fetish.

Nonetheless, I thought it was cool. I didn’t have too many things left after moving from home-to-home for God-knows-how-many years. However, my brother and I have a mysterious benefactor giving us money for supplies and whatnot. Although I know for a fact that Tristan is planning on paying him or her back as soon as he is able.

“I’d going to order pizza, want some?” Tristan asked as he peaked his head into my room.

Without much thought I answered, “Yeah, get half pepperoni and half plain cheese, and don’t let your nasty pepperoni touch my cheesy goodness!”

He rolled his eyes. “Pepperoni is better than plain cheese, everyone knows that.” I stuck my tongue out at him, not much in the mood to fight. I kind of wanted to relish in the idea of having a life here.

“Are you going to make friends here?” I asked. Tristan and friends didn’t exactly fit into his whole I-have-to-protect-my-itty-bitty-sister thing.

His teasing smirk softened in a genuine one. “Yes. I think we can relax here, ease up a bit. Are you?”

“Depends,” I say and he eyes me warily. He waits for me to continue but I don’t. I take out my cell phone and play around with it.

“Listen, Nadia, you’ve been doing this whole secretive thing about why you picked Clover Hills, why you’re following this Elsa chick, and why you’re being so cryptic with your answers.” He’s using his big brother voice and I know I have to at least throw him a bone.

“I’ll answer one of three of those questions,” I tell him. He opened his mouth to say which one but I cut him off, “I choose.”

“That’s not fair Nadia; answer my question that I pick. I want you to tell me why you picked Clover Hills, why is it so important?”

I grinned. “It’s a magnet; this whole is a supernatural magnet!”

He groaned. “I knew you were gonna give me a cryptic answer.” He didn’t say anymore because he knew I wouldn’t tell him anymore. So he left to order the pizza.

I turned on the mini-fridge-sized HD TV planning to channel surfed until the pizza came. What was I going to do tomorrow? My plan of attack. Clearly Elsa wasn’t trained-yet-since couldn’t sniff me out.

I guess I could try to befriend her, which would be sort of difficult since I kind of cheesed her off yesterday. Plus I needed to find out if there were any other hunters in this town. I bit my lip. It was times like these that I needed help.

There was nowhere for me to get help from though, Tristan was useless. If I even told him my plan then he’d high tail it out of here with me on his back, kidnapped of course. Elsa was my only option at this point, and she would be difficult.

“Nadia! Pizza’s here!” Tristan called. I shook myself from my thoughts and darted down stairs to enjoy my cheesy goodness. Everything would work out. It just had to.
