I run along a trail with my dog, Sam, following the eagles. My muscles grow weary as I go faster and faster, testing my limits. My timer beeps, queuing my fast time is up. I slow down, walking to a bench, Sam following behind me. I re-hydrate and pour some of my water onto the cement for Sam. She licks it fast, like she hasn't had water for years, licking every last drop. I pet her husky white and black back, stroking the line where the colors meet. After catching her breath, Sam wanders off, my eyes keeping track of her. She disappears into the cool woods, I follow her, finding her in a shaded area of grass. I join her, feeling the cool grass against my hot and sweaty skin. I hear a rustle, much larger than a squirrel or bird. Sam's ears perk up, following where the rustle came from. I find myself staring at a pair of electric blue eyes, staring right back at us. Sam gets up and sniffs the air, walking slowly toward the pair of eyes. A yellow and black dog-like head pops out of the shadows, along with the pair of eyes. It looks at Sam, sniffing in her direction, then notices me. Its body comes out of the shadows, its dog-like body follows its head.
Curious and frightened, Sam sniffs it more, sniffing along its pattern of black , yellow, and gray. Also curious and frightened, I run my eyes along its structure, following its pattern too, when the pair of electric blue eyes staring at me catches my attention. I notice Sam sniffing its strange objects on its back were its wings would be. The figure turns away from me, directing its attention to Sam. They sniff each other, before a dragon-like roar interrupts. We pick up our heads, directing our attentions to the sound. The figure stops sniffing and gallops into the shadows.
