The Bandie and The Golden Boy

Chapter 1: Erin

"Erin Macon?" Mr. Robertson, the band class teacher at Avon music high school called.

"Here." I replied.

"Drew Nalham?" He called on one of my best friends. Drew was a simple dude, blond hair that fell into he sexy blue eyes, and total abs. So not my type, though.

"Yo" was his responds.

"Mason Slufer?" Dumbass, that one. Typical music jock. Singer, pianist, composer, with that dark brown hair, and warm forest green eyes, almost ever girl falls for him, not me, though. He was also dating the school slut. Saige Barret.

"Here sir." I rolled my eyes. Suck up.

"Lastly, Austin Trucher?"

Austin was a typical gay. Awesomely cool brown hair, slight abs, sexy eyes, and dressed in the lastest fashion from my mother's mag, High School Latest. Yup, that's write, my mother is the editor, and runs the entire High School Latest mag co. Back to Austin, he's your typical gay. And, yes, he is gay.

"Ok, as you know, each year, we pair you up with random people, and each year you have the choose to enter the schools music competition to win the grand prize. This year, the grand prize is a trip to New York City" Mr. Robertson said. As soon as he said where, everybody broke up into chatter with their friends. Drew, Austin and me never enter since I was terrified to sing in front of people, and we always seemed to be with each other. Yeah, I was fine just chilling with my guitar, but I could NOT sing in front of the entire school. No way.

"Ok, Ok," Mr. Robertson said, "Settle down. Now, I'll read out the band members." Slowly he went threw the list, finally, he came across my name. "The last band is Erin, Austin, Drew and... Mason."

"What!?!" All four of us cried at once, then I added, "Not to offend you or anything, Mr Robertson, but there is no way in HELL that I am working with Mason!"

"Erin, I choose the bands bands for a reason. So, you'll work with who I put you with, or you won't work at all. I'll fail you."

"But sir-" I started, but he cut me off.

"No ifs, ands, or buts." he said, "End of disicion, good bye."

I slummed back into my hair, letting my shoulder length blond, pink and green streaked hair fall over my face. Stupid jocks, getting on my nerves.

"Now, onto the rules of the battle of the bands." Mr. Robertson said, "You will have till the end of the year to pick your set list of 3 songs, and you will be performing on the last day of school, June 29th. As seniors, you will have to perform, that is final. Now, as you now all students must show case there own talents..." After that, I just drowned him out into the bell rang, signaling my free period. Gathering my books, I headed out to one of our 6 auditoriums, only to find Austin, Drew and Mason already there.

"Ok...? What we all doing here?" I asked, dropping my books on the ground, and taking my guitar out of the case that was always with me. My guitar was an electric guitar, that was fully black with specially made white strings, along with my trusty white pic that had an 'E' on it.

"We figured we'd find out what Mr. Golden Boy over here can do." Austin said

"Good idea," I said, grabbing an amp from the music closet. I plugged my guitar into it, and told the guys to get their stuff ready, well I talked to Golden Boy. "What interments do you play?"

"Pianist, and vocalist." He replied.

"Do you know 'The Payoff' by Faber Drive?" Drew asked

"Yeah." He said.
