Chapter 3: Our Duet

Erin's POV

That night, as I climbed into my big bed, I felt worried. After being found guilt of assaulting my mom and I, he promised us that he would find us, and we would pay. I just shrugged this off at the time, not thinking about it, because, well, he was gone. For 5 years, at least, I would have a life. Of course, now, those 5 years were up, and he was after us. The only people who knew about my dad was our family, Drew, and Austin. I knew if I told Austin and Drew, the two of them would do something crazy but, if I didn't, they would kill me when they found out. I decided I'd tell them when the family was here. Every year, my family, all of my mom's side, came down to our house for a few days, and had a huge get together. Drew and Austin were usually at the house during this time as while. They were piratically family.

I then shook my head. Now was not the time for thinking, it was time for sleeping. I pulled the covers up and over my body, and closed my eyes. Tomorrow was a new day, and it was look pretty good right now.

The next morning I got dressed quickly in some old riped jeans, a band shirt of the Beatles with ripped shoulders and some boots. I quickly brush my hair, leaving it hanging down to my shoulders. I then left my room, and slide down the banister, receiving a disapproving look form Lori, and entered the kichten, where our chef, Paul, was. Paul was the best chef in the entire world. Hands down. He could make everything and anything. You ask, he makes it. "Morning Paul" I said brightly, going into the fridge to get out an apple.

"Moring Erin. Your mother's in the dinning room, if you wish to eat with her." He said.

I nodded "Ok, thanks" I walked into the dinning room, and saw my mother sitting there, reading the paper. "Morning mom"

She looked up from the paper, almost looking surprised to see me there. "Morning sweetheart. How'd you sleep?"

"Good. You?" I asked, sitting next to her and bitting into my apple.

"Fine. I'm a little stressed about this new article we're working on. I'm not sure if people will like it or not." She said, putting the paper down.

I finished chewing my apple, "What's it's going to be about?" I asked curiously.

"Gay rights."

I smiled. "Finally. People will see how fine gay people are if it's in a huge mag. Run it mom."

She smiled right back at me. "I knew you'd support the article."

I laughed lightly, before hearing a car horn faintly from outside. "That'll be Drew and Austin. See you after school mom."

"Actually," My mom said, "You won't. I have some magazine business to take care of, so you'll be by yourself tonight. Feel free to invite Drew or Austin over for the night sweety."

I nodded, and said goodbye, then left the room, running to the front door, then out it and to the car. Austin's car was a huge dark green van, that used to be his uncle's. I opened the back door and slide into my usual seat. Behind Drew, who sat passenger. "Morning boys."

"Morning" They chimed back.

We drove threw our normal route, playing our ever continuing game of 'My Cow'

"My sign" Drew said.

"Dude," I said, "I called that yesterday"

"That was yesterday." He said matter of factly.

"This a continuing game!" I protested

"Not any more" He said.

"Fine" I pouted, "My Bella's diner "
