Tessa's Life As A Mermaid

all about us( chapter one)

"Tessa! Tessa" I heard my mom call from downstairs. As usual, I dared not to question myself as to why she had to wake me up so early as I already knew it was soon time for school because of all the pots and kitchen cutlery booming in my ears. "Tessa! Tessa! Wake up!" I heard again."jeez....why does she have to be so annoying!uh!" I said as I tried to find my way out of bed. Just as I looked at my alarm clock, I'd realised it was just 45 minutes before school would commence, because it was already 7:30am. "OMG! If only I was a northern pod mermaid, I could easily reverse time" I said to myself. Before my bath every morning, I would drink some salt water and head straight to the nearby beach. Us mermaids do not bathe with a silly cloth and a random sharpened solid bar which humans call 'soap'. We go all natural. With fresh seaweed and fresh sea water, we have the most refreshing bath. My best friend kyla and my mom are the only two persons (on land of course) who actually know that I am a mermaid. Funny  enough I don't know my father.......I heard he was a merman, but died when I was pretty young trying to save merlandia. He was trying to stop humans from coming to the borders of ocean beach and merlandia, but a man saw his tail, called his colleagues and they saw his tail and they captured him...... They put him in a nearby aquarium which was newly installed with no sea weed! And few weeks later he died                          
Are they crazy??? Or should I say they were
Crazy.... I mean... Us mermaids cannot survive without seaweed....    Well to be honest,its quite a hard trying not to end up like my dad because when you're half fish half Human, if a drop of water touches u, ur tail will be exposed ,and with all the jerks at school,  you will have a hard time hiding your tail . you may be questioning how I got here when my mom is human and my dad was a fish..... merpeople split our tails when they are about to.... Let me not say.   

As I splashed into the crystal clear water, just as you'd have imagined, my tail comes along with me. I greeted all the sea creatures as I swam along. The whales were gossiping (especially the humpbacks) about how Ezra, the king of merlandia was planning to stop all merlands(mermaids on land)from coming to merlandia. He said it was because they lived on land(mostly) and it is a high possibility that they would've been seen by humans... Jinkeez.... What am I gonna do???
