Matthew briskly climbs the stairs up to the entrance of a tall brightly colored apartment building and skims the list of tenant names on the wall. He scrolls down and finds Donovan, Clyde and presses the buzzer next to the name. Constantly he looks over his shoulder. After a few moments the doors part and Matthew steps inside. He approaches his friend's apartment and the doors are already open. His friend is busy as he arranges the pull out sofa in the living room and Matthew steps inside. "Hey Clyde."
Clyde looks up and smile he approaches Matthew hugs him. "I'm glad to see you alive."
Matthew winces, his chest sore but embraces him back. "I'm glad to be alive."
Clyde walks back to the sofa. "Have you gone to the police yet?"
Matthew follows him. "Not yet. I was gonna go after work tomorrow."
Clyde picks up a satchel from the floor. "You can sleep here."
"Thank you for this."
"It's the least I can do."
"You wanna grab a bite to eat?" Matthew runs his hand threw his hair.
"Help yourself I have to run an errand." Clyde slings the bag over his shoulder.
"I'll go with you."
"That's okay you look tired, stay, rest, relax."
Clyde walks out the door. "Ill be back later and we can catch up." The doors close behind him.
Matthew looks around and notices the room is very tidy everything has it's place. He walks over to the wall of pictures and removes one of a beautiful woman. He sits down on the sofa and stares at her face. Matthew places the gun down on his stomach. His eyes tire so he closes them and drifts off.
