Cold winter’s breeze blew lightly,
And the people coughed and sneezed.
In the freezing weather, on a bench,
Sat a wretch boy trembling and weeping,
Everyone passed by but no one helped.
A man in a thick furry jacket,
And a shawl over his broad shoulders,
Passed near by the boy.
His heart melted as he saw,
The boy crying and shuddering.
The man pulled off his jacket,
Walked near to the boy,
Handed over the jacket to him,
With a smile and a lot of care.
And in darkness he walked away silently.
