I'm so sorry for not updating guys. I have been busy with a lot of stuff and I am off and on for being grounded. I will up date as much as I can
I explained my vision to Cassie and all she did in response was “Mmmmmhmmm” and “Oh” which kinda got on my nerves but I didn’t say anything. After I finished explaining we sat in silence for a bit and then my mom came in.
“Hey girls want pancakes for breakfast?”she asks as we slowly get up
“Ummmm…” I gave Cassie a look asking if she wanted some ”Sure we’ll be down in about fifteen minutes.”
I make my way to my closet and Cassie to her bag of stuff. We changed quickly and went down stairs.”Mmmmmmm do I smell bacon?” I ask as we reach the bottom of the steps.
“Yeah I thought that you girls might want some” she says as we sit down at the counter. She serves our plates and gets out the syrup and silverware.
We ate in silence like usual. After we had finished I did the dishes and chatted with Cassie. We talked about the teachers we had and our favorite classes so that my mom wouldn’t get suspicious. As soon as I finished cleaning up we went up to my room and shut the door. We waited before talking again just to make sure that my mom wasn’t listening in. Once we were sure that she wasn’t there we started to talk about my vision.
“Are you one hundred percent sure that you couldn’t see it? I mean it was there.”
She gave me the look. I don’t think she knew that she was doing it but she was.
“I’M NOT CRAZY!” I yell hoping that my mom didn’t hear. I ran to my bed, hid under the covers, and cried. I cried for what seemed like twenty minutes before coming out of the blanket. She was giving me another look. The look like I was a kicked puppy. A worried and concerned look.
I, of course, had to ignore it because I was already on the verge of tears and didn’t want to cry in front of her. I know she is one of my best friends but still I don’t like to cry in front of people, it’s embarrassing.
It was a nice, sunny day so we went outside in our swimsuits and soaked up some sun. When we started to get too hot we turned on the sprinklers and were acting like we were kids again. I could have sworn we were out there for at least three hours before her mom pulled into the driveway.
I go inside and change as thoughts run through my head. I think mostly on why ME out of anyone can see it and why Cassie couldn’t. I mean I don’t think I have some special power to let me see things. Well, I don’t think I do at least. Can someone have powers? Am I like Violet from The Incredibles but opposite to where I can see invisible things.
“Hey mom, is it ok if I go to Maddy’s house and stay the night?”
“Only if you can tell me what the square root of 64 is” I am a mathemagician so she always asks me stuff like this for when she is doing her different crafts. Of course I need a moment to think but I get it right anyways.
“Eight, can I please go now?” I am a bit impatient but it’s only because I am a teen. I’ll get out of it soon.
“Sure but make sure that you have your phone and charger with you at all times.”
“You know that I always do but why are you reminding me?”
“It is because on the news I heard that some cities are being evacuated so if we are one of them then I will need to contact you immediately.” This is exactly what I feared that we would be evacuated because of those things that the old man was building.
“When do you think that we’ll know which cities are being evacuated?” I have a curious mind and if I don’t get an answer then I have to dig for it myself.
“I hope tonight after your father gets home.” She doesn’t seem to be worried or scared about our city possibly being evacuated.
“Alright then I will be off, my phone is fully charged and should last until around two tomorrow morning.”
“Alright. Be safe please no causing trouble.”
“Mom, since when am I safe?” I give the ‘I know and I will’ kind of look and grabbed my bag and left.
