Chapter 2

Leah's POV

As I walk away from my locker, I get the feeling that I'm being watched. But I dismiss this feeling immediately. I head to my first class of the day and sit down next to the window and zone out for a minute. I thought about the dream I had last night where I ran into a field and laid in the grass and cried for hours on end, then I walked back to my house and sat as if nothing had happened. I was wondering why I had dreamed such things until I was snapped back to reality. The group of boys that had just been standing around my locker were all in my class and sat behind me. I noticed them all stare at me for a moment as they passed me. I kept thinking about how odd it had been. I had only been here a week and found it strange that four very attractive guys had stared at my sister and I as we walked in. I noticed that one passed me a note and I unfolded it conspicuously and read what was written in neat letters

The four of us were wondering if you would sit with us at lunch today along with the girl that walked with you to your locker this morning.

How interesting, I had better warn my sister before lunch. I took out my phone before the tardy bell rang and sent a text to my sister warning her about lunch.

Lunch finally came around and my sister and I were greeted by the four very attractive guys whose names I didn't know. They took us to their table and I sat beside my sister in order for me to protect her if needed. I had always felt that it was my job to keep her safe. One boy with medium brown hair and beautiful blue green eyes began speaking first. "My name is Wyatt, and you are?" "My name is Leah and this is my sister April" I began. I looked directly at Wyatt and noticed a hint of curiosity and interest in his eyes. My sister showed curiosity on her face as well. Another guy with black hair and brown eyes turns and focuses on my sister and I. "Where are you guys from, since I know it isn't here" the black haired boy says. "We used to live in another town farther away from here but we moved due to our dad's job" April responds. He introduces himself as Asher and points to a dirty blond haired boy with hazel eyes and introduces him as Sebastian. A dark brown haired boy named Mika seemed to stare at my sister for a while. I found this amusing since I was very observant and more of a wallflower than anything. "Why did you guys invite us to sit with you" I asked, letting my curiosity get the better of me. Wyatt locked his eyes onto mine as he spoke..."well I wanted to get to know the two new beautiful girls that I had never seen before". I immediately feel my face get hot as a blush arises. I glance around the table and notice the other guys nodding in agreement. As I have noticed, Wyatt seems to be the charmer and leader, Asher the more reserved guy in the group, and Sebastian and Mika are the very humorous and easiest to like.  As lunch ends I notice that Mika is walking with my sister. Very cute I think to myself.

At the end of the day I stop by my locker to drop off the books I don't need. As I close my locker I notice Wyatt leaning against the one next to mine. "What are you doing here?" I ask with confusion evident in my voice and on my face. "I was going to ask if you and your sister would like to hang out with us guys tomorrow night?" He says. "Why are you being so nice to my sister and me?" I ask before agreeing to anything. "Well I noticed you and your sister when you went to your locker this morning and saw how beautiful you two were. And the guys and I were thinking about asking if you wanted to join us at a movie? Lunch was a test to see if we wanted to ask you or not by the way" he responds quickly. "Interesting...I'll think about it and let you know" I say. He smiles for the first time that I had seen and I find him even more attractive than he already was. I return a smile so I don't seem rude. Our silence is broken by my sister walking up and asking if we can stop by sonic on the way home. I laugh and agree. "I'll see you girls later okay?" Wyatt says as he walks towards his friends. "Okay" April and I respond, once again... in unison. Asher seems to chuckle at this and so does Sebastian. Mika is playing on his phone so he must not have heard. I grab my car keys and wallet out of my backpack and start walking towards my car. I notice Chance is standing next to his car which is parked next to mine. "Hey Chance" I say to catch his attention. I notice a flicker of happiness in his eyes although he'll never admit it. "Hey girls. Are we stopping by sonic on the way home again?" He asks. "You know it!" My sister shouts and begins to laugh at Chance's expression of embarrassment. The four boys came walking over to us and ask if they can join us since they have nothing better to do. "Who's this?" Wyatt asks while staring directly at me. "My older brother. Chance this is Wyatt, Wyatt this is Chance" I state. Wyatt steps forward to shake his hand and my brother does too since he knows it would be considered rude to refuse. We all agree to meet at sonic and I get in my Buick and Chance gets into his Audi. I watch the boys go get in their cars. It doesn't surprise me when they all get into their own cars and they don't ride together. Their cars seem to reflect their personalities. My sister notices where I'm looking and begins to look herself. Asher climbs into a red corvette stingray. Wyatt climbs into a blue GMC truck. Sebastian makes his way towards his black dodge challenger. And Mika gets into a lime green Chevy Camaro. I assume they all come from wealthier families due to their cars and the amount of money that insurance would cost for these boys to drive such expensive cars. We all leave the school parking lot and head towards sonic. Once we get there my sister and I order grape slushies. Chance ordered a cherry limeade slushie. And Wyatt and Asher ordered strawberry slushies and Mika and Sebastian ordered watermelon slushies. We all sat and let the boys ask us any questions they liked. After the boys asked us all kinds of questions we finally went our separate ways.

I drove to several car dealerships that afternoon until April finally decided on a light blue corvette stingray. I headed home and noticed that my parents were home already. I walked inside with April behind me. We both headed to our rooms to take a well deserved nap after a long hard day. Mom and dad were downstairs in their bedroom and Chance, April, and I were all upstairs in our own rooms. I thought about how the boys had treated me today. Then sleep came over me as my eyes finally closed.
