Chapter 11: We have to talk

"Explain. Now." demanded the green hair shooter.

"What what-what? What are we talking about?" asked Kagami.

Tetsuna picked up the menu and said, "Well, before we talk, let's eat! I'm starving!"

"Yessssss FOOOD!" shouted Kagami.

After everyone ordered, Midorima turned to Tetsuna again with a serious look on his face, "Now, you can explain. What is going on?"

Tetsuna looked out the window with a sad look, and she turned around towards the boys and started telling the story. "Well, if you want to know, we have to talk about a lot of things. So, please don't interrupt. First, I need to talk about...Karasuno."

"Karasuno? What is that?" asked Kagami. 

Kise smacked Kagami in the head and said, "Stupid Kagami-cchi, Tetsuna-cchi just told us not to cut her off." 

"Shut up the both of you, " said Midorima, "You both are interrupting her." 

"Guys, can I continue now?" asked Tetsuna after waiting for the three to stop talking. "Learn from Takao-kun, he knows some manners."

Takao looked at the three boys with a look that seems to be laughing at them. But he quickly turned back to Tetsuna and waited for her to continue talking about herself. 

"Well, as I was saying. Karasuno. That's the high school I went to. I know you must be thinking why I already went to high school. I'll explain later." Tetsuna said, and she took a sip of the tea, "I was on the volleyball team, my teammates were very nice to me, and I was very happy. But..."

Tetsuna looked up, trying to stop the tears from falling. Midorima, who was sitting next to her, patted her back until she felt better. After a while, she started talking again. "That day...we were in a bus, on our way to the tournament. But we got into a car accident, and everyone else got in a coma, with a small chance of waking up again. In the hospital, I fell into despair and fainted. In the darkness, I heard a voice talk to me. I was told that I will be turned back to a middle schooler, and sent to Teiko. The voice also told me that the Kiseki no Sedais will become arrogant. My goal was to change you guys back, and my teammates will wake up."

"So...the only reason you played basketball, is because you wanted to make your teammates wake up?" asked Midorima quietly. 

"No! No. After playing basketball, I realized that it was quite an interesting sport. I enjoyed it very much." 

"Your skills are a lot higher from middle school. Were you hiding your true potential?" asked Kise. 

"That was one of the rules, I can't show my true powers. And I have to endure being betrayed and hurt by my friends. I..." Tetsuna looked straight at Midorima, "I heard everything you guys said. Everything...oh the food is here, let's eat."

The five people ate their dinner in silence. Suddenly, Takao broke the silence, "What...did they say Tecchan?" The three of them stared at Tetsuna, while Midorima turned away. 

"I...don't really want to talk about this." she answered with a sad smile. 

It became silent again, nobody said a word until the end. After everyone finished eating, Takao and Kagami offered to walk Tetsuna home. Kise had to go home early to prepare for the modeling sessions tomorrow. Midorima only nodded before leaving in the other direction.
