I've been adopted for a week now, and I'm starting to see my name online a lot more often. Melanie is gone right now, because she has a concert today. So I was basically all alone in a huge mansion. Cool! I think. It was hard to tell because I was incredibly bored. It was a Saturday, there is infinite possibilities! Only problem is, one of those infinite possibilities is infinite boredom. I picked up my phone and suddenly I felt a pang of something. Something willing me to call the orphanage. Call Sissy. I tried to stop myself, but ended up looking up their number and calling it. "Hello?" A familiar voice said. "Sister Lindy? Hi! It's me, Grace!" I exclaimed. "...Hello, Grace. Why did you call us?" She said uncertainly. "I... I want to talk to Sissy." What am I doing?! "Really? Are you sure? You do remember her outburst, don't you?" Yes, I do not want to talk to her!! "Yeah, but I miss her." Don't put her on the phone! "So can I please talk to her?" Sister Lindy hesitated and then agreed. I heard her walking into a different room. "What do you want?!" A girl's voice said. "Grace wants to talk to you." Sister Lindy said. "WHAT?!" The girl grabbed the phone. "GRACE?!" Sissy screamed. "Hi, Sissy..." I said. "WHY THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING TO ME YOU ANNOYING BRAT! SHE SHOULD HAVE ADOPTED ME!!" This went on for a while, and I didn't stop her. But finally I cut in. "Look, Sissy, I just wanted to see how you are doing!!" She was silent. "I'm sorry she chose me, okay?" Sissy hesitated. "Where even are you?" She whispered. "Melanie's house." "Where is Melanie?" "At a concert." "Why did you really want to call me?" "I-" I stopped. Why DID I want to call her? She was mean and I wanted nothing to do with that orphanage. "I don't know. Something inside just, I dunno, told me to." I mumbled. Sissy was silent, then she hung up on me. I slowly rested my phone on the bed. I gave her a chance. We could have been friends. But she took her chance and threw it away. She was rude and I don't know why I ever liked her. I heard the door open downstairs. It must be Melanie. "I'm hoooome!" She sang. I got out of my room and ran downstairs. "Hey Melanie. How was the concert?" I asked. "It went pretty good! I messed up on the first lines of Alphabet Boy though..." She opened the cookie jar and bit the head off a baby shaped cookie. "I'm sure nobody noticed." I ensured her. "Hey, wanna go someplace? I have a fan meet and greet at 2:00, and I'm sure people would love to meet you." She said. "Sure!" I went back upstairs and so did Melanie. But when it was 2:00 and we were getting in her limo I noticed something. "Melanie... half your hair is blue now... wasn't it pink an hour ago?" Melanie chuckled. "Yeah, I change it often. But I always keep one half black. I guess it's just my style." She said. We drove to the meet and greet, which was even farther than the ride from the orphanage. I was so excited and nervous! Am I really going to be famous?! I had no idea what that felt like. But I was excited to find out!
