My Strange Life

Chapter 2

I walk to my locker trying to drown out everyones talking.

I get to my locker and I look over and see Ben.
Ben is just this random person I've bumped into a couple times.

"Hi Camelia." He says

I smile at him, basically saying hello.
I kind of think he likes me, but I'm not sure.
He's been to all of my schools since the 1st grade.

The bell rings and soon everyone disappears-
besides me and Ben.

"Are you feeling okay?" He says out of the blue.

"I really wish people would stop saying that." I complain.

"Its just you're kind of glued to the floor." He says.

"Oh, yeah. I uh- don't really want to go to class." I say and look down.

"Do you wanna skip class with me?" He asks

I look over at him and slightly smile.

"I guess. Being late to class is really embarrassing too so." I say 

We shut out lockers and just talk until the bell rings.

"I feel terrible for asking this but, how are you really dealing with your parents death?" He asks.

I look at him-
his hair seems like a fluffy cloud and he smells like sea salt and candy.

"I'm doing fine. I mean I miss them a lot- I really do. But I have to move on." I say

The bell rings and we head to class together.

We set next to each other- ironically.

He stares at me-

I look back at him and smile.

Life was fun and okay until Cheryl, the queen bee bitch came over to me.

"Omg I love your necklace." She says sarcastically.

"I know you don't mean it." I say.

She gives me the bitch face and snatches it off my neck.
My heart stops for a second- like the whole world stopped.

"Give me back my necklace." I shout.

"Aww is someone pissed?" She asks.

"Just- please give it back." I ask.

Then all of sudden she throws it-
My heart breaks and I feel a stingy feeling in my throat.

"Oops." She says.
I was about to attack her until-

Ben caught the necklace.

"Cheryl, didn't your daddy teach you manners?" He asks.

She gives him the bitch face and storms to her seat.

Ben gives me my necklace.

"Thank you so much Ben." I say, practically falling into his arms.

"It's no problem." He smiles

I smile back.

Sooner or later we have lunch.

I get my lunch tray and look for Ben,
I see him and next next to him.

"Hey." He says.

"Hello." I say.

Lunch is pretty boring, me and ben just talk about what happened in the classroom.

School is over and I head to my locker.

Ben is there too.

I get my stuff and almost leave- but Ben stops me.

"Can I come over?" He asks.

"Uh- sure." I say.

We head out to his car and drive to my house.
I feel nervous for some reason.
He notices how nervous I look.
He stops the car and touches my hand.

I look over at him- resisting the urge to kiss him.
I know I don't like him- I'm just looking for closure.

I smile at him.
He smiles back.
I breathe intensely trying to calm myself
Then I do it-

I kiss him.
