The music from the speakers boomed around the huge high school. A couple of high schoolers wearing GWHS's apparel welcomed me and lead me to the gym. "Thank you!" I chanted back, as they both smiled. I took a huge breath in and out before grasping the handle, pulling it back slowly.
'You can have a piece of my love, it's waiting for you, girl it's true, I do love you.' Guy's Piece of My Love rang, as the beat made it's way to my chest. I bopped my head, walking into the highly decorated gym. Red and blue balloons made it's way throughout each of the walls, and a few on the floor. Confetti and streamers decorated also, and there were many tables and chairs to seat. It looked just like prom.
I walked over to the food tables; there had to be at least 10. I saw many unfamiliar faces, but with my age, I considered I probably wouldn't remember anyone. A small tap rang on my back as I turned around. "DEE!" I ran into his arms, grasping him hard. I was so glad he came, I really didn't want to do this by myself. "You said you weren't coming!"
"I know, but I saw how nervous you were so I threw some clothes on and came, besides," He pulled me into another hug, "how can I stay away from you?" I blushed, as he gripped my hand, and we both walked to the drink station.
"I haven't seen anyone yet, have you?" I grabbed a cup of pink lemonade, thanking the teacher who was serving the drinks. "Nope. At least I have you tho." What's it with him always having me blushing?
"Oh my gosh, Dee, it's Mrs. Sanderson! My all time favorite teacher, oh my gosh, I'll be right back," I pushed my drink into him, running over to her. "Mrs. Sanderson! OMG do you remember me?" She looked at me for a while, before a big grin grew across her face. "Alexandria! Come here!"
I gave her a big hug, as she began discussing how I looked. "You're still so beautiful, I was waiting to see how you looked now!" She grabbed my hand, while twirling me around so she could see my full outfit. "You look great, Mrs. S!" She blushed, while pointing over to Dwayne.
"Is that Dwayne? Quarterback Dwayne?" I smiled, while nodding. "Girl, why you smiling so hard?" I blushed, before responding, "Me and Dwayne just reunited a few days ago, and we're really clicking." "Couple yet?" I shook my head, if only she knew what I knew. Hopefully he'd make me his own in a few days. "You two would be really cute, Alex. Maybe I should talk some sense into him."
We both laughed, while I quickly declined her offer. "He'll do it when the times right, I hope." "It'll happen, baby girl. I promise. Considering how beautiful and intelligent you are, he'd be a fool not to." She said, before being interrupted by someone shouting her name behind me.
"Mrs. Sand!" My heart stopped, as I turned around to see who had called her. "Rayan! How've you been!?" She asked, while he smiled. "Good, I've been living. And who's this young lady?" He looked at me, before Mrs. Sanderson answered, "You don't recognize who that is?"
He turned his head to look deeper into my eyes, before shaking his head slowly. "No...." "It's Alex." His eyes nearly popped from the sockets, while I smiled nervously. "Uh, hehe, hi Rayan." His mouth was wide open, as he looked me up and down. "Wow, Alex, you look amazing." I blushed, while replying, "You don't look too bad yourself."
"I'll let y'all reunite and reminisce together." Mrs. Sanderson smiled, leaving only me and Rayan to talk. "Let's sit down." He guided me to a table, with another boy already sitting there. "Chres." Ray called out to the other boy, as he looked up, looking right at me. "Remember Alex?"
The boy's eyes did the exact same Ray's did, as he nodded. "Alex?" He asked, as I smiled waving. "Hi boys." Chres stood up, greeting me, and giving me a hug. "Wow, you look beautiful. I'm Chresanto, remember me?"
