I enter Scott's house with his mom to see he was accompanied by Kira and an angry father.

"How's Stiles?" Scott asks as I sit down on a nearby chair.

"He's been better" I sigh

"Hey, what's going on?" Melissa places her bag on the table.

"Maybe one of you should explain." Scotts father froze, it was as if he'd seen a ghost.

"Scott Who the hell is this?" I stand up; feeling a cold draft enter the room.

"Dad, no! Dad, wait Dad–" hes interrupted when one of the cloaked figures emerges and impales Agent Mcall with a Katana.

Melissa rushes over to him "Nell i could use your help" i nod and assist Melissa. avoiding the fight that was about to break out.

"In here" we take Agent Mcall into Scotts room.

"Mom, the ash! Mom now!" Melissa rushes out of the room and I try to calm Mcall down.

"Monroe I need to talk to Scott" I shrug

"Can it wait?– he's a little busy right now"

"Not really–" he's interrupted when Melissa comes back in and takes over "Scott, this isn't good! Need to call for backup."

"How bad is it?" Scott shows up in the doorway.

"From the way that his arm is rotated, the tendon looks torn.
He could be on his way to a collapsed lung." he gasps.

"Mom, those things, they're not going to leave until the sun's up." Melissa takes her attention away from Agent Mcall and looks at her son; still making sure to apply pressure to his arm.

"At the rate he's bleeding, he's not gonna make it that long." in the corner of my eye, I see Scott observing my anxious behaviour.

"Nell go help Derek and the others" my head shoots up at the mention of Derek's name– what if he knows about the Diary?

"Ok" I make my way towards the kitchen and see Ethan, Aiden and Kira.

"It's Kira, right? You going to tell us what you are?" the twins seem puzzled by Kira's inability to pass the mountain ash.

"What? What do you mean?"

"Aiden Watch!" Ethan attempts to put her hand through the barrier.

"See that? She can't go through it either" Ethan pauses "So, what are you?"

"She's a kitsune" I speak up; receiving baffled expressions from the twins.

"What–" Aiden is cut off by Derek who stands beside me.

"a kitsune, idiot. Use your eyes.– You can see it all around her. The younger ones give off an aura, She just hasn't learned how to conceal it yet. She probably doesn't know what kind she is either."

Around an hour passes and the masked figures have recently started trying to break the mountain ash barrier. I feel my nerves activate and the noise of the figures becomes louder.

Scott traipses into the room; sliding his phone into his pocket. "I just got off the phone with Alison. She said They're Japanese demons called the oni and are looking for someone possessed. Someone with a dark spirit attached to them.–" Kira interrupts.

"A nogitsune." Scott nods

"They want do this check, so they know that we're not the ones carrying the spirit.–" she cuts him off again

"I'm right, aren't I? They're looking for me."

Scott walks over to Kira and places her hands in his "They're looking for a dark spirit. And I know it's not you."

"Scott, we're going to have to do something." Aiden speaks up; referring to the Oni that managed to break our only form of protection.

"Don't do anything."

"Is he serious?" I go to interfere and Derek pulls me back.

"I said don't do anything." Scott looks at me and I sigh.

"Trust me." The Oni approach Scott and Kira; marking them like they did to the rest of us.

They then disappear into thin air, I contemplate the information Alison gave us.

"so who's the nogitsune?" I mumbled. Derek shrugs, acknowledging that he herd me.

"I dont know– but we need to find out"
