It had been a few days since Alex moved in, and I was seriously crushing. I didn't know whether to approach him about how I felt so I decided I would go talk to Peggy about it later, she would know what to do. Alex was on his bed typing and typing, I wondered why he always typed like he was running out of time. I couldn't help but stare a little, well a lot. He just looked so handsome when he was focused. His eyebrows scrunched together almost in frustration and his eyes deep in thought, like mirrors reflecting every word he typed. It was fascinating, like watching a movie, his lips mouthed every word he typed. I was laid back on the headboard of my bed reading but I would often look up at Alex and get lost in admiration. I'd stare dreamily at him as I watched him type. Occasionally he'd turn to his little notepad and study the finely written words making sure he understood every aspect of the writing. I kept asking myself the same question, what is he thinking about? I could only imagine what was going on in his head, it was a tough question, I would be distracted by every moving thing in the room but him, it was like he was in his own little bubble. I admired that so much. I went back to reading my book, it didn't last long because after a few pages I couldn't help but look back up at Alex. I stared at him for a solid 10 seconds before he averted his eyes up off his laptop to me. My heart skipped a beat as our eyes interlocked from across the room. I wanted to look away but I couldn't, I felt my face become hot and my cheeks became bright red. What made me blush even more was that Alex's face had become red also. I had the sudden urge to get up and just press my lips against his, tell him how I really felt. But I didn't, instead I quickly looked back down at my book pretending that nothing happened. My face still hot from embarrassment. I tried to concentrate to the words but all I could picture was Alexander's caring eyes looking up at me from across the room. And I started thinking.

~Alex's pov~

I was doing a project on Christopher Jackson, the first U.S president. It was an essay that was supposed to be at least five pages but I had already written fifty one, that essay was a piece of cake and I finished it in less than thirty minutes. I knew all about Christopher Jackson, it was an easy task. But, I had noticed that John would occasionally look at me, I didn't pay too much attention to this because I thought maybe my hair looked weird that day or it was the bags under my eyes from staying up so late. Plus, I gave him the occasional look every now and then. I couldn't help it though, something about him made me want more. I looked up for a second because I had lost my phone when I saw John staring at me. I held my breath as a intense blush spread across my face. Our eyes locked for a few seconds, the most magical moment. But, he swiftly averted his eyes back to his book leaving me sitting on my bed wondering what had happened. Does this mean he likes me? I mean he was looking at me, and I looked at him. What if I just had some food on my face and I made it awkward? I was almost scared but the moment left a small grin on my face for the rest of the day. Because the one real thought in my head was; maybe he likes me.

After a few minutes of thinking I decided to do something about it. I got off my bed and I saw Alex flinch the slightest bit, it made me chuckle.
"I'll see you later alright Alex? I'm going to see Peggy Schuyler for a bit," I said so he knew where I was going to be.
"Alright I'll see you later John!" He beamed a smile at me which filled my heart with joy and warmth. His eyes glowed as he watched me walk out the door, I just wanted to get up in the bed with him and cuddle. Since he was of a smaller physic I could imagine holding him tight in my arms like a teddy bear. He was just so adorable! I walked out into the bland looking hallway of the dorm building. I walked past a couple dorm rooms until I finally reached Peggy's room. I knocked to a specific rhythm we made up so she knew it was me.
"Come in John, it's unlocked!" She called from inside.
"Hey Peggy!" I waved at her. She was sitting on the couch watching tv and she waved back at me. I walked in and sat down next to her.
"What's up John?" she asked.
"It's...I," I couldn't seem to get the words out of my mouth, "I...uh," I just sat there staring at her hoping she would speak for me.
"Oh my gosh! You have a crush on Alex don't you!" she exclaimed excitedly.
"What? No! Maybe...yes,"
"I KNEW IT!" she yelled making me jump. I laughed at her reaction, she started jumping up and down clapping her hands. "I gotta tell Eliza and Angelica!" she reached for her phone but I pushed it away. "Hey! What was that for?" she asked.
"I don't want anyone to know," I said tilting my head down, "You know I haven't come out yet."
"Oh, right," she looked at me with concern, "Well you should ask him out!"
"Pegs! Alex doesn't even know I'm gay! In fact no one knows I'm gay except for you!!" she stopped me.
"So come out! Everyone will understand, there's nothing wrong with being gay," she reassured me.
"But-"
"Listen to me, your father doesn't know what he's talking about!" her voice turned serious.
"What if he's right?"
"John, you know it's not your fault," she pat my back, "Back to important things, Alex is sooo gay for you!" she smirked "just saying."
"How do you know that?"
"You keep forgetting that I'm Alex's friend too, he tells me everything," she crossed her arms, "Will you ask him out now?"
"Tell me what he said about me!" I said trying to avoid her question.
"No."
"What do you mean?' I said shocked.
"You ask him out and I'm sure he'll tell you himself," she raised an eyebrow.
"Fine, I'll ask him," I said giving up, "You've convinced me Peg," I chuckled. I got up and headed for the door, "Thanks Peggy!"
"Anytime John," she winked and waved bye to me. "Wait!" I turned around "I saw Alex eyeing you down the other day," she giggled as I blushed. I turned back around and shut the door. I walked back to our dorm with a slight skip in my step.
