"So I usually start off my tours with a little history and context. Riverdale High first opened its doors-," Betty droned before being cut off by Valerie who had menorized the pamphlet about the town.

"In 1941 and-,"

"And hasn't been redecorated since, apparently." Veronica concluded.

"Honestly, I feel like I'm wandering through the lost epilogue of Our Town."

"Uh-huh." Betty laughed.

"So what's the social scene like here? Any night clubs?" Veronica laughed.

"Libraries? Consignment shops?" Valerie inquired.

"A strip club called the Ho Zone and a tragic gay bar called Innuendo. Friday nights, football games and then tailgate parties at the Mallmart parking lot. Saturday night is movie night, regardless of what's playing at the Bijou, and you better get there early, because we don't have reserved seating in Riverdale. And Sunday's thank God for HBO." A tall, lanky boy interrupted. Valerie assumed that he was friends with Betty.

The small town girl was overwhelmed. Her cousin, on the otherhand, was from the city. Veronica was strong enough to quickly adjust socially, but Valerie couldn't see herself doing the same. It would take time.

"Veronica Lodge and Valerie Sato, Kevin Keller." Betty introduced the duo to the flambouyant boy who just smiled.

Valerie figured that Kevin Keller was a boy who knew who was who. She decided in that moment that kevin would be a valueable alliance in the Jason Blossom case.

"Veronica and Valerie are new here."Betty said, stating the obvious.

"Kevin is-,"

"Gay, thank goodness. Let's be best friends." Excitement drenched Veronica's voice.

"Yes, let's be." Valerie nodded her approval.

"Is it true what they say about your dad?" Kevin leaned in with his books clenched to his chest. Valerie had to admit she fancied his style.

"That he's the devil incarnate? I stand by my father, does everyone here know?" Betty and Kevin stayed silent.

"Wonderful. Ten minutes in and I'm already the Blue Jasmine of Riverdale High." Veronica walked off, heels pounding the ground.

Valerie stayed back, watching as Betty humourously glared at Kevin and then scurried off to find Veronica.

Valerie stepped closer to Kevin. She smiled, swaying; which caused her brown satchel to flap against her.
