"Emily, wake up. It is time for you to start packing so that you can get going" my mom yells from the bottom of the stairs.

So, just for in case you did not know, I am Emilia. My mom is shouting at me because today is the day I finally move out of the house to London. I have been waiting forever. I am attending university there, I am majoring in music and dance. I got my musical side from my dad and the dancing part from my mom, cause dad had no moving rhythm (the irony).

"Emily, are you awake?" mum shouts louder than necessary as she barges into my room.

"Yes mum, I have been up for over an hour. I am busy sorting out the last of my stuff before I have to leave later."

I luckily do not have to pack much except my clothes. I am staying with one of James' good friends in the city, cause she needs a room mate and someone to split the rent with, and I, well I just need cheap rent.

After I am finished with everything that still had to be packed I make my way towards the kitchen. I stand still for a moment before entering the kitchen, I just stood and  stared at my mom. The way she always has a smile on her face and pretending she has no worries at all; even after everything that happened.

My mom is busy making my favourite breakfast, pancakes while singing All The Lovers by Kylie Minogue. As I walk in to the kitchen her smile grows even bigger but her eyes tell another story. She is sad, and it is because of me.

"Mom, please don't be sad. It is only for a month and then I will be back to visit." I say as I sit down at the small table.

"I know I know. It is just sad to see my baby grow up so fast." She smiles lightly as she starts to laugh because she knows I hate the word 'baby' or 'babe'. But just because I am going away today I will let it slid for this one time.

About an hour later I hear a car door outside. It is probably James, I am driving with him to London, cause first of all my mother can't afford to buy me a car and I don't have to money to maintain one. Secondly, I will never be able to find parking in that city.

"I'm coming" I should to him as I quickly kiss and hug by mom goodbye before she can start crying, cause I do not do the whole crying situation.

James has already opened the back of the car for me to load my bags in and opened the passenger door for me. I wave to my mom as we start our journey to the big city.

"So, are you exited?" James asks without taking his eyes off the road.

"I'm as exited as I could possibly be. Especially to meet my new room mate. What's her name again?"

"Her name is Abby, and bout that. Don't ask her too much questions. She does not talk about what she does for a living or how she gets money. I don't even know what she does, or well what she really does, and we have been best friends for years. She also does not care what other think of her, so don't get a fright if she comes walking naked out of her room or the bathroom. That is who she is and nothing you do will be able to change her."

"Thank you for telling me all of that now when it is absolutely to fvcking late to make other plans." I reply sarcastically.

So what James basically arranged for me is a flatmate that may or may not be a serial killer, but I am not allowed to ask her cause she does not speak about her fvcking work. How am I suppose to start a conversation with her if I meet her for the first time? 'Hi, I am Emily. Thank you for letting me stay her. What do you do? Oh wait I can't ask that, eerm, when does you period start?' Okay, okay it is probably not going to be that bad. The conversation will probably not be that awkward.

It is already late in the evening when we arrive in London, to be precisely, it is already 19:30. James will go and drop me off and introduce me to Abby. We are lucky enough to get a parking right in front of the apartment building. It does look kind of scruffy from the outside, not clean at all actually. This just makes me more nervous, what if the apartment is dirty as well. I will not be able to cope with that.

"Oh, I almost forgot. Abby said she left you a pair of keys under the door mat of the apartment. She will not be in until later tonight.

"What's with all of the surprises? First I may not ask what she does for a living and now I am going to have to introduce myself? You know that I'm a really awkward person, right? You know I will probably start singing happy birthday to her instead of properly introducing myself."

"Oh, come on Emily, it is not that bad and she is a really fun and interesting person. She just has work tonight that's all."

And with that I get my bags and make my way to the apartment. He said number 312. I keep repeating the number over and over. As I get to the door I see that there is a welcome mat in front of the door but you can also see that it does not belong there, it seems quite out of place in the hallway. I retrieve the key and unlock the door. As I step inside my breath is blown away. This can't be the same building, can it? Really? I pinch myself to make sure that I am still breathing properly. All of a sudden I hear another pair of keys just after I closed and locked the door.
