"Papa don't cry," I whispered as I stared at his tear-stained face."You're a grown woman now." He managed to tell me in between sobs, I let out a slight laugh "Pops I was always a grown woman"
"I'm gonna miss having you around Sakura." I could feel the tears build up in my eyes as I tried to keep a straight face "I'm always going to be around, it's not like I'm dying or something." I cleared my throat in an attempt to hide the crack in my voice.
My dad looked down at me with droopy eyes, "Now then, stop crying because you're making me cry and I don't want to go through the pain of applying makeup on my face again."
I wrapped my arm around his and gave it a slight squeeze. My body shifted towards the large brown doors in front of me. I could feel my dad straightening his back and forcing a smile on his face. In any second now that door will open, and just like that my whole entire life will change and I'm pretty sure he knew that as well.
"There's nothing needed to be said."
The sound of the wedding 'Here comes the bride' could be heard playing in the background, I guess that was our call. I glanced at my dad in hopes of seeing him smile but all I saw was his eyebrows crunching up into a frown.
The doors in front of me opened in what felt like slow motion, I let in a deep breath. There was no going back right now.
Pops took long strides towards the wedding aisle, he tugged my body alongside his.
Most people described the feeling of this as nervousness but at the moment that wasn't something I felt. The heaviness in my heart seemed to get stronger as we reached the end of the aisle. I felt my dad pull his arm away from mine and walk back to where he was supposed to be seated.
I looked up from underneath the veil only to be greeted with my future husband "You look beautiful." He whispered to me with a small smile graced on his lips.
I took my place next to him and let my eyes wander around the room. Most of my friends had a smile on their friends, my lips imitated theirs. I could feel myself looking for him in the spacious room and I did manage to find him seated down next to his plus one.
His face seemed to have no emotions, as usual. I let my eyes linger on his face for a couple of seconds but luck was never in my side because he caught me. His eyes connected with mine and I could feel it again. The butterflies that he made me feel, apparently he still does, the memories his eyes brought back. My heart pounded out of my chest and at any moment it was about to burst out of my chest.
"I do." I was snapped back into reality by my soon to be husband's voice.
"Do you take Rin as your lawful husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part?"
The whole hall went silent, everyone's eyes darted onto me.
My eyes met his from within the crowd once again. The uncertainty I felt at the beginning of the relationship all seemed to come back to me.
"I do."
Even after those words left my lips his reaction never did change, not even for a second. I wasn't sure if that was a good thing.
All our friends and families let out loud cheers in happiness. Even though I was supposed to be the happiest in the room my happiness didn't seem like it could ever reach theirs.
"Does anyone have an objection?" The crowd went silent, not a single hand was raised. My eyes darted towards his in hopes his hand would be raised.
Please.
He simply looked at me with a chilling glare.
Please.
An automatic smile was placed onto my lips.
I'm begging you.
I breathed in and continued my staring contest with him.
Please.
It was small but it was still there, the uncertainness in his eyes. My insides got a weird sensation as I stared at him in hope.
I want you to say something.
He gulped and took in a deep breath, but there was still no objections.
Say something.
Rin grabbed my hands and gave them a slight squeeze, I'm happy. No one was objecting what else could make me this happy in my wedding day.
My eyes widened as I saw him stand up from his seat. All attention shifted towards him and the cheery mood suddenly went dark. He cleared his throat and patted down his suit, then he proceeded to sit back down in his seat. The heavy air was lifted and the smiles were back on everyone's face, except mine.
Please, say something.
"You may now kiss the bride."
