~~~Max~~~
When Johnny came in, I jumped up off the bed and ran to my bookshelf. "Oh hi, Johnny!"
"Knock off the act, Deer." He came over and picked me up bridal style then put me on the bed again. "I know you're upset."
I sighed and settled on the bed by him. "Ah'm sorry, Johnnycake."
He pulled me to his side and I snuggled in. "I'm not mad, okay? I promise. Just..." He sighed. "I admit I'm a bit jealous of what you had with Finn."
I looked up at him. "Really? But we have so much more!"
He shook his head. "He can sing..."
"Awe," I cooed, reaching up to peck him on the cheek. Ya can sing, too."
"No. I really can't."
"Ya know how they say love is blind? It's deaf, too." I smiled. "Ah love ta hear ya sing. As much as ya love ta hear ma drawl."
"Really?"
"Of course!" I beamed. "Yer perfect in ma eyes an' ears."
"No I'm not. I get jealous to easily and I can't even dance without the fear of killing you and Ghost and the kids!"
"What er ya talkin' 'bout?"
"Ghost calls it the British disco," he explained. "Anyone who isn't British or already dead will die if they see me dance. I know it sounds crazy but it's true. A ghost did it to me as punishment for when I..." He stopped short and flushed.
I chocked my head. "When ya what?"
He gulped and I saw a bead of sweat start to make its way down his temple. "When I went punk in high school..."
I stopped for a second before shaking my head. "Sorry, what?"
"I went through a punk phase, okay?" He almost shouted. "And I bullied Ghost... I told you this the last time Axe came out but I yelled so you probably didn't hear..."
I nodded. "Ah did black out once before we went ta Terry's."
He just looked at me, a bit shocked. "You aren't upset?"
"Why would Ah be upset? We all go through phases in our teen years. Ah, fer one, had a shy phase."
He raised an eyebrow and sarcastically asked, "Really?"
I nodded and smiled knowingly. "It's true. Ya may not believe it what with how confident Ah am."
He chuckled and shook his head, poking my side. "Dork."
"Ah yes, but Ah'm yer dork."
He lifted me into his lap and brought me close. "You're the one who's perfect." I shook my head but he insisted. "Oh, yes, you are. You didn't even question why we didn't dance at our wedding. You just let me get away with 'reasons.'"
"Heh. That jus' makes me a pushover."
"Nope." He stubbornly pulled me closer.
"Ah've always been a pushover."
"Max, I swear to god if you say one more bad thing about yourself, I'm going to kiss you."
I smiled. "Ah'm too short."
He pulled my face to his and kissed me hard. "I told you I would do it."
"Why do ya think Ah did it?"
He made an oblivious face. "I don't know. Why?"
I playfully hit his arm. "'Cause Ah love ya, ya dork." He laughed and I shook my head. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer so I'd lean on him.
When I glanced up at his gorgeous face, he smiled. "Love you, too, Deer. To the sun, Pluto, around the world and back again."
I smiled back and snuggled in. "An' the same ta ya, Johnnycake. Always."
