My first piece of advice is listening to inspiring music. For me this helps because I am a music freak. The only type of music that is likely to inspire you is classic or 80's and 90's rock and pop. Country music probably won't. Not to throw it under the bus or to offend, but country music is about getting drunk not following your dreams or accepting the past. The only song I can think of at the moment that pertains to accepting the past and going forward is Dream On by Aerosmith. The Lyrics are:
Every time when I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone
It went by, like dusk to dawn
Isn't that the way
Everybody's got the dues in life to pay
I know nobody knows
Where it comes and where it goes
I know it's everybody sin
You got to lose to know how to win
Half my life
Is books, written pages
Live and learn from fools and
From sages
You know it's true, oh
All these feelings come back to you
Sing with me, sing for the years
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears
Sing with me, just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away
Yeah, sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me, just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away
Dream on
Dream on
Dream on
Dream until your dreams come true
Dream on
Dream on
Dream on
Dream until your dreams come true
Dream on
Dream on
Dream on
Dream on
Dream on
Dream on
Dream on
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me, just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me, just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away.

My hypnosis for the song is that we need to accept that the past is gone and we can't change it. We need to look towards the future because we never know which day may be our last.
See, doesn't music have meaningful and helpful words sometimes?!
