September 1st, the first day of Alexander's first year of college. He felt severely distressed and slightly concerned, almost sick to his stomach. It's not like he was shy or anything, Alexander Hamilton is definitely never afraid to speak his mind. But- this was his first year in a completely new environment, college. Not only that but a completely different country, America.
Alexander had recently moved to America from a small island in the Caribbean, about a month before school started. He moved to America to get the education he needed and quite frankly, deserved. So here he was, standing at the large double doors of King's College. They were old, mahogany he presumed. They were probably twice, no - triple his height. He took a deep breathe "You can do this" he whispered, and walked through the doors.
He looked down at a crumpled piece of paper, with the letters "1776" scrawled in his own messy handwriting. This was his dorm-room number. Alexander looked around, quite obviously lost. To his delight, Alexander noticed someone he recognized, well someone he heard of at least. He grabbed the man's arm before he could walk away "Pardon me, are you Aaron Burr, sir?" he asked. The slightly taller man looked down at him and raised his eyebrows at Alex, "who's asking?" he replied. Alexander laughed awkwardly and put his hand out for Aaron to shake, which he did. "I'm Alexander Hamilton, I was wondering if you could help me find my dorm?" he showed Aaron the small piece of paper in his hand. Aaron squinted, trying to read the awful writing. Once he got it, he nodded "follow me". Alexander readjusted his backpack, picked up the handle of his suitcase and did as he was told.
They walked to the room in almost complete silence. Alexander tried to start conversation with small, stupid ice-breakers such as "where are you from?" or "what are you studying?" but was answered with nothing but silence. After almost a minute of basically talking to himself, Alex gave up and stayed quiet. Soon, Aaron stopped walking, Alexander almost walked into him but was able to stop himself. Aaron knocked on the door three times and a couple of seconds the door opened by a tall, beautiful man with black curls falling to just above his shoulders, sparkling hazel-green eyes, tanned skin sprinkled with freckles and and a smile that probably light up the entirety of New York City. "Hi, Burr" he smiled. His gaze then turned to Alexander "who's this?" he asked. Aaron looked down at Alex "This is Alexander, your new roommate". The freckled man smiled at him "Hi, Alexander. My name's John". Alexander gave a small wave and walked inside. Before he left, Alexander thanked Aaron and John closed the door. "Welcome home, Alex" he laughed.
Alexander walked into the living room, and put his bags down on the floor. He sighed in relief to have the weight of the backpack off his shoulders.
"Ohh, qui est ce cutie?"
Alexander jumped, he didn't even notice the man lounging on the couch. From what Alex could see, he was quite tall and lanky. He had dark skin and hazel eyes and curly, poofy brown hair tied in a ponytail. He had slight stubble on his chin. He was actually quite attractive.
"Cette cutie parle Français" Alexander replied, he felt himself blush. He wasn't quite sure why, but it happened.
"Mon nom est Lafayette" the tall man smiled kindly "et votre d'est.. ?"
"Alexander" he replied as he put out his hand for Lafayette. "Nice to meet you, Lex" Lafayette smiled and took Alex's hand. "Aha, yeah, don't call me that". Lafayette just laughed "Of course, Lex". Alex just sighed, as John entered the room. "Hey, don't flirt with him. I called dibs" he called. Lafayette rolled his eyes and smiled "My apologies, mon ami".
"Hey" Alexander "you're not allowed call dibs on me, that's weird. I'm not a prize".
"Sorry" Lafayette and John said in unison. "We don't mean it like that" John tried to explain "you're just cute, that's all".
Alexander laughed "uh, thanks, I guess". "Anyway, now that you've met Lafayette, you're his replacement". Alexander raised his eyebrows "huh?", John sighed and told Alexander what was going on "Lafayette is moving dorm-room so he can sleep with his boyfrie-" Lafayette interrupted John by throwing a pillow at his head "He's not my boyfriend!" John looked at him "yet" he added. Lafayette sighed. "I'm moving to Hercules' dorm room". Alex cocked his head to the side "Hercules?" "Our friend" John explained. Alexander nodded "oh, makes sense". "We should all hang out sometime, he's cool" Lafayette suggested.
"How about now? Is he doing anything?" John asked. Lafayette shrugged "I'll text him".
John dragged Alex into his bedroom "Laf is totally into Hercules, just saying" Alexander laughed "thanks for that information" John smiled devilishly "just watch them." Alexander nodded "will do". Lafayette entered the room "he's free, he said we could come over in an hour or so, the Schuyler sisters are coming too" John's eyes lit up "perfect! I can't wait for you to meet the Schuyler sisters, you'll love them" Alexander nodded again "what are they like?".
"Well, there's Angelica" started Lafayette "she's like the definition of strong, independent woman. She's nice, but be careful around her, she will probably hit you if you say the wrong thing.
Then there's Eliza, she's the purest child ever to live on this earth. She's so innocent, kind and forgiving. I'm sure you'll love her""And Peggy!" John interrupted "she's the youngest, and probably the cutest. She's just full of energy and positivity"
Lafayette nodded in agreement.
"They all sound lovely" smiled Alexander "and what can you tell me about this Hercules guy?"
Lafayette chuckled "he needs no introduction. He's a kind guy, he can be loud at times but is usually quite gentle" John laughed, and Lafayette hit him "You're blushing!" Called John "am not!" Lafayette shouted back.
"Hey!" Alexander broke up the fight "shouldn't we get going?"
John and Lafayette looked at each other and back at Alexander, then nodded.
Alex smirked "Les' go"
