POV Camila
It was a rainy day in Miami and I had just gotten out of my shitty minimum wage job at the local market. Since it was only about a block up from the apartment where my little sister Sofia and I were living, I decided to walk home.

When I reached the apartment building I took the elevator up to the 4th floor and dug through my pockets to find my keys. When I finally found them I opened the door and walked in. I noticed Sofi was laying on the couch reading, she must've just gotten home from school. I started to take my shoes off. Sofi must have heard me because she spun around.

- "Hi mija! How was work?" She asked excitedly.

- "Eh it was okay." I answered.

- "It's Friday do you know what that means?" Sofi asked.

- "No I forgot." I answered sarcastically.

I noticed her smile turn to a frown.

- "Mijaaa." She whined. "We get to go to The Sparklight Café for dinner, remember?" She said.

- "I know, I know. I was just playing with you." I explained.

Sofi's face lit up.

- "Yay! I'll go get ready right now!" She yelled to me as she ran out of the living room and down the hall to her bedroom.

Every Friday I take my sister to The Sparklight Café for dinner. My parents took me there every Friday when I was a little girl before Sofi was born and I used to look forward to it all week. Since my parents passed away last year, I decided to continue our tradition with my little sister in honor of them which was special to Sofi because she knew that I was struggling with money since my job didn't pay much.

Sofi suddenly appeared next to me and handed me my shoes that I had just taken off a couple of minutes ago with a big smile plastered on her face.

- "Ready to go?" She asked when I finished tying my left sneaker.

I smiled at her and nodded.

We left the apartment building and entered the streets. It was still raining. I called a cab to come pick us up since it was too far to walk in the rain.

When we arrived at the café, I tipped the cab driver and thanked him and Sofi and I got out of the cab and walked into the café. Our usual server George, approached us and greeted us.

- "Camila, Sofia, how have my two favorite customers been? I haven't seen you since last Friday!" He teased.

- "We have been great George. How about you?" Sofi responded.

- "I have been just fine, thank you. Your table is right this way ladies." He said as he smiled at me.

George had been friends with my dad most of his life. My dad used to really enjoy him as a person so I trust him.

As we sat down George asked us what we would like to drink.

- "I'll take a water and mija will take a hot chocolate." Sofi told him.

-  "Hey, how do you know what I want to drink?" I teased my sister.

- "Uhhh because you get the same thing every time." She responded.

She did have a point there, I did get the hot chocolate every time I came here ever since I was little.

George left and came back with our drinks. He then took our orders for food and I got a salad and Sofi got the chicken nuggets. While we waited for our food to arrive I found a pen in my purse and I played Tic-Tac-Toe with Sofi on a paper napkin. I heard someone say "Oh my god Mila is that you?" So I turned around to see who it was. It was no other than the one and only Dinah Jane. Dinah and I were best friends all throughout middle school and high school but when we graduated I stayed in Miami with my family, while she went off to college in the northern part of Florida. We face timed all the time but eventually we lost contact.

- "Dinah! I haven't seen you in so long! I missed you so much!" I said.

- "I missed you more Mila! I haven't talked to you in 3 years. We need to catch up." Dinah said.

I nodded.

-"Remember my sister Sofi?" I asked Dinah and gestured towards Sofi.

-"Wow. Look how big you've gotten! You're growing up so fast! Last time I saw you you were only 7!" Dinah told Sofi.

- "Yup, and now she's 11 and we're 22." I said smiling.

- "That's so hard to believe. Time is flying by so quickly." She said.

- "Why are you in Miami?" I asked her.

- "I'm moving back here because a new company just opened here and I got the job, I start on Tuesday!" She explained excitedly.

-"That's good, I'm so happy for you." I told her.

- "Yeah, I'm so sorry but I have to go, I just stopped by here quickly to pick up a coffee but I must get going so I can move my stuff into my new apartment before it gets dark." She explained. "Mila, you still have my phone number right?" She asked.

- "Yes I do." I said.

- "Okay, I'll text you. Have a good evening ladies." She said as she grabbed her coffee from the blonde woman approaching us holding it and walked out the door.

George came back with our food and after Sofi and I finished eating, I payed the bill and thanked George and then we left the café. Since it was no longer raining Sofi and I walked back to our apartment. We were both pretty tired so we put in a movie and both crashed on the couch in the living room.
