The original idea behind this story was that someone very powerful had inadvertently wrecked the world and was now abdicating her responsibility to set things right. Someone else would have to come find her and light a fire under her butt. But once I decided, or discovered, that they were sisters, things got metaphorical really quickly. I mean, isn't a relationship itself a tiny world? And doesn't it take two to keep that world running?
This fictionette was brought to you by the word "cataclysm" and the Tarot card The Hermit.
Cover art incorporates author's original photography of the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory display window teddy bear in Boulder, Colorado. The taped-over cracks are original to the window and not edited into the photo after the fact.
