The Only Light In The Darkness (Zervis Lovestory)

Chapter 1

"*sigh*, ugh its getting really lonely here"Mavis said to herself. Her mother Evergreen goddess of Agriculture has forbid her to come out of their house. Its been a 3 months since she last went out to play with her friends.

Flashback. . .

"Mavis my dear child I think its better if you stay at home. It is not safe for you to go outside" Evergreen said to her beloved daughter who pouted. " But mother, you know how much I love adventure and I'm also a goddess I have an important role I'm this world aswell" she said as she went to the outside and stated at the horizon.

"I know but you have to understand that I care for you my daughter. Please do it for me~ do it for your dear mother" her mother begged. Mavis loved her mother. She sighed in defeat and nodded.

Flashback end. 

Mavis rested her arms on the windowsill. "Mavis? Are you here dear child?" A familiar voice called out to her. She spun to see Ronomiya. Before she met her,in her first impression, she thought that she was cruel to the daughter's of Zeus's from another woman. But first impression can be wrong. When she was alone with her. Ronomiya then started to play with her.

"Lady Ronomiya, what brings you here?" She asked the goddess who sent her a smile and walked to her. "I just came here to bring you some fruits I thought that you might be hungry" she said to Mavis as she placed the fruits on the table. Mavis walked to the goddess of marriage and labour.

She noticed something wrong. "Lady Miya? What seems to be the problem?" She asked as Ronomiya's broke of her trance and turned her attention to the young goddess. ,"uh-oh nothing I just remembered some thing" she lied with a fake smile.Avis knew something was up. And she knew who caused the goddess to be like this. Ronomiya has also become a mother figure though she considered Gajeel as a lucky guy to have such a caring mother.

Miya or Ronomiya become a foster mother to all the sons and daughters of Laxus to another. The god of thunder was known for his numbers of affairs. Mavis admired the love that Miya carried for Laxus. She loved him not because she was bound to be married to him but because this is what her heart says. She didn't even  cared for what he has done. He loved him unconditionally and at the bottom of her heart.

"Lady Ronomiya, please tell me if Gajeel was here he would asked the same" she said and held Miya's hand. The goddess of labour gave a troubled smile to Mavis and caressed her head. "Oh dear child, you know how much your dear father very much even after the affairs he has done. I loved all of you like you were mine but I still feel the pain." She said to Mavis who felt sad for her. "Why do you have to stay with him my lady even I can tell he doesn't care for you" she said to Miya who still gave her the same sad smile.

"I know, but. . . . " she trailed. Miya walked out as Mavis followed her outside. She stood beside Miya as they stare at the green fields of Olympus.

"But I still love him"

Mavis's eyes widened and looked Miya who was still looking a head with teary eyes and a sad smile. She felt sad. She cried. Miya turned to the girl who was now crying. She smiled at how caring Mavis was. "Oh dear child why are you crying?" She asked her as she held her shoulder. Mavis sobbed as she speaks.

"B-because your sad, I don't know what to do to help you" she cried to Miya. Miya just smiled warmly and hugged her. "Hush, my little Mavis I will be alright" she cooed to the young goddess who slowly had stopped crying. Mavis's head was rested on Miya's shoulder with an arm around her.

"Mavis?" Miya called.

"Yes?" She replied.

"One day, you'll meet a person who will fill a part of your heart, will give you the a love far different that your mother nor I give you. If he does come. Treasure him, Cherish it my child." She said as she felt Mavis nod. She smiled as they stayed out for a little more.

Zeref stared at Mavis's sleeping form in the small pond of water in the underworld. Zeref smiled at how kind Mavis was. "She never fails to surprise me" he said. "You have fallen for her my liege" Rogue said "N-no I don't!" Zeref denied as a tint of red spread across his cheeks.

Mavis bade Miya good bye as the Supreme goddess of gods and  goddesses did the same before turning back to go back to the temple of Olympus to stay by her husband's side.

"When you feel sad or lonely. Just Sing. It will ease the pain even if its just a little" Ronomiya said before she left Mavis.

Mavis took a a deep breath.

I know, everybody on this island seems so happy on this island
Everything is by design
I know, everybody on this island has a role on this island
So maybe I can roll with mine.

She sung with her heart. Ronomiya stopped from walking and turned back to where she came. She smiled "yes Mavis, sing with your heart as it slowly set you at ease my dear child, one day you'll find someone that will fill the void in your sweet heart" she said.

I can lead with pride, I can make us strong
I'll be satisfied if I play along
But the voice inside sings a different song
What is wrong with me?

From the Underworld, Zeref listened to Mavis's voice with a smile. His mind was filled with nothing's but just Mavis's smile. He wish that he could be one of the reasons for her bright smiles and laughs. Because just by hearing them makes his day. Then he shot up  from his seat and said. . . .

"I gotta have her"
