I thought I was awake -
Then she slipped, softly - a cloud of cotton
Above my lids,
Lulling me into a dreamy dimension.
She gently placed me in her lap,
Rocking me back and forth,
Relieving me of my tension.
Away it slipped,
And I with it,
Into a realm between reality and dreams,
All fading together -
Impressionistic then surreal -
Until nothing was as it seemed.
All chatter became her tune,
Like waves upon the ocean,
And colors blended into her warm embrace.
I blinked, unsure of life,
But she swayed me back and forth
Outside of time and space.
I quickly sank into
Her surreal tranquility
And rested my head
Upon her shoulder,
Now lost to reality.
