Mara's POV

--5 weeks later--
"No Alec don't let him do this!" I screamed. The blonde haired boy wasn't hesitating to shoot. "Isabelle? Clary?" All three of the other shadow hunters were staring. "Simon?" Simon stood there. Why wasn't he getting Raphael. "Don't please!" I screamed. "I'm sorry."

I woke up suddenly. "Are you alright?" Raphael asked. I nodded.
"Hey, I never asked. What happened to Camille?" I said.
"Long story, it happened just after Simon became a vampire." He told me. Isabelle hadn't even told me that.
"Oh okay," I said.

I got dressed into some high waisted black skinny jeans and a black cut out crop top. I but some heels on and I left the Hotel. I went straight to the institute. I knocked on the door and after about thirty seconds a man opened the door.
"Can I help you?" He asked.
"I'm here to see Alec Lightwood?" I said. "Or maybe even Isabelle Lightwood or Clary Fray?"
"No downworlders are allowed in the institute until further notice." The man told me.
"May I ask why?"
"Valentine has Jace Wayland, we are now having Clave meetings only. Off you go then." He said. I turned round and started walking down the steps. 'Valentine has Jace.' I thought to myself. 'If I bring Jace back, Alec can't hate me can he?'

I sat on the bottom step of the institute until it was midnight. I heard people talking. I listened. "No Isabelle, you stay here, In case he comes back." I heard. Clary.
"Then I'm coming with you." Another voice said. Alec.
"No, I have to get my brother on my own." Clary told them. 'Brother, when did that become a thing?' I have really missed out on a lot.
"Okay but if anything happens were coming." Isabelle said. They said their goodbyes and Clary left.
"Isabelle are you crazy?" Alec asked. "We can't let her go alone."
"Then I'll go." I said walking over to them.
"And why should we trust you?" Isabelle asked me.
"Look, I made a mistake, I'm sorry but Maryse asked me to." I told them.
"Wait, our mother knew about this?" Alec asked. I nodded.
"She's the one who hired me." I said.
"Unbelievable." Isabelle said annoyed.
"I'm going okay? I have to make it up to you." I told them both.
"You can try but it won't work." Alec told me.
"I'll take my chances." I said turning around and walking away. I could've sworn I saw Alec smile a little bit.
