Why did this have to happen to me, of all people. Why why why why! I can hear their footsteps right behind me.
"Shit!" I yelled as I felt the tearing of my skin along my legs across the asphalt. My eyelids clenched and tears began to flow down my face as I looked at my leg.
Blood trickled down my leg as I tried to get back on my feet. This road went on for miles, how was I going to be able to hide. I looked to my left and found an open valley that led to a barn surrounded by corn. To my right, miles of corn laid out like a large yellow blanket. The clouds laid shadows along the ground in front of me. I waited for the right moment and ducked into the corn field right when the clouds blackened the surface below me. Rows after rows of corn stalk lay ahead of me, and the bumpy surface in every open row of corn didn't help the fact that I've ran for miles on end. I kept running, letting the plants hit my legs and arms, making scratches that bled.
As the sun hit the red horizon and the stars began to twinkle, I stopped and stood against a stalk. My energy was drained to there was little to none left. The Sides of my sleeves were torn and the bottom of my leggings were ripped off while running through the fields. I slid down the stalk and sat on to the hard surface. As I slumped down, my head tilted upwards towards the stars. I could make out many of the constellations, like andromeda. I laid my head back down, letting my chin hit my chest. The constellations have always reminded me of my parents. But of course I was taken away from my parents. That was 5 years ago though, and I shouldn't feel this way anymore. But even if I try really hard, I have the same feeling.
"I wonder if my parents are still looking for me, or did they already give up on their little girl," I mumbled.
I looked down at my torn up hands. A single tear was laid across a scratch and made the blood smear. I reached my arm up and rubbed the water out of my eyes. I looked back up at the sky. Clouds had moved into the view of the stars so I could only make out a dim glow.
"I guess I should get some sleep, there's nothing to look at anyways" I whispered, to myself.
My head slumped back down. My vision began to blur, and all I could see was the one tear, glowing in the black night. My hands fell to the ground as I began to snooze off.
All I could see was black. A black dress, black leggings, Black gloves, black socks, and black heels. A tall man stood in front of me, he was wearing a black suit, black socks, a black hat, but he wore a white undershirt and a red tie. His face was like no other, there was no face. The man took a step toward me and kneeled down in front of me. He reached forward and grabbed my legs. I tried to get him to stop but for some reason I couldn't move, nor could I speak. A pair of hands laid upon my shoulders, and another man walked forward from the shadows. He too wore a suit and a red tie, a bent his knees near the bottom of my dress, and reached a hand out towards the dress. I tried to scream but again, nothing came out. The hand was getting closer and closer until, my thighs turned cold. I gasped and before I could try to scream again, the event was cut short.
My eyes open to the dim orange and white clouds, I awoke, but I didn't jump. I stood up slowly, and reached my arms over my head, showing my stomach. I looked down and laid my hand against the upper half of my stomach. A colored shape of my hand was left on my stomach. A breeze went through the rows of corn, sending a child down my spine. I hadn't eaten since I ran away, but of course I don't know where the nearest town is, I don't even know where I am.. The corn isn't very fresh so I can't eat that. The only way I'm going to find help is if I look for help.
I pulled my shirt over my waist and took a step forward. Siering pain flooded through my nerves, almost as if I was stabbed. I clenched my teeth tightly in pain, and my knuckles began to turn white as i fell to my knees. I sat back down and looked down at my leg. Dried blood crusted over a bleeding open wound. It's going to get infected if I don't do something about it. I ripped off a piece of a stalk and brushed it, making sure their was nothing on it...
