EXPLENATION:
so what basically happened was; areum moved to a new city alone and with not a lot of money.
people around her would refuse to help her because she is just a poor foreigner to them, areum slowly looses hope, until one day she meets yoongi.
slowly the two start loving each other and eventually get together.
three months past and yoongi and areum break up (how and why is open for everyone to imagine. i like to think that yoongi got killed somehow) and areum falls back into depression only this time, she is forced to pretend to be happy in order to not worry her parents.
EXTRA:
1. the whole book has 11 chapters,
t r a p p e d f i s h has 11 letters.
2. if you only count the parts that are the plot of the story, the chapters are nine,
m i n y o o n g i has 9 letters.
3.when areum was at the lowest point of her life, she would write letters to herself. as soon as her and yoongi meet she grows out of it and the letters get eventually fewer until they stop completely. she starts again as soon as yoongi is out of her life again.
