Harry Potter and the 19 years between (on hold)

Chapter 8

4 month timeskip. Harry and Ginny had their wedding during this jump.

  "Potter. Weasley." a voice barks in the Auror office.

Both men stand up from their desks walking over to the head of the Department. One look at their bosses face and they know something happened that he is not happy about.

"We had a prison break last night.  A bunch of Death Eaters got out including Mr. Lestrange. We need you two to go looking for them. It shouldn't be to much work." Greg says handing them each a stack of papers.

 Harry looks at Ron with a sigh, "I guess I'll see you tomorrow morning after I finish the paper work." Harry says

"Alright, mate." Ron says before apperationg to his and Hermione's flat in London.

"I'm home, darling." Ron calls out from his office. He sets the stack of papers on his desk before walking towards the living room.

Hermione looks up from the book she is reading. She smiles getting up. She hugs Ron before kissing him.

"How was work today?" She says kissing his cheek.

"Long. Harry and I just got landed with rounding up the escaped prisoners." Ron says sitting down on the sofa before pulling her onto his lap.

She sighs and pouts, "Didn't you guys just have a long mission where you two were gone for three days?"

"Yeah, we did."

"It's not fair. All the other Auror's never get these long jobs. You and Harry are always stuck with them."

"I know believe me I'm tired of it too." Ron says

    Hermione gets up heading into the kitchen. She starts making dinner for them. Ron gets up following her. He smiles as she cooks. He gets up and hugs her from behind. She sighs setting the stuff down.

"Ronald you know I can't cook when you do this." She says

"I think we should have a date night. After our mission." He says kissing her cheek.

"I guess. If I'm not busy." She jokes

He laughs before sitting back down.

        Harry stays late at the office trying to get all the paper work done so he doesn't have to do it when he goes home. He finished the last paper. As he looks around he realizes he's the last person in the department. He sighs looking at his watch.

"Blimey." He says, it was nearly midnight.

      He hurries putting his stuff away. He, being the last one there, locks up the office. He then apperates to His and Ginny's house in Godric's Hollow. It is right next to the old Potter house. Muggles can not see the old house but he can. He hurries into the yard and up to the door. He sees a few lights in the house are on. Ginny must still be up. He thinks to himself as he unlocks the front door. He shuts the door and locks it. He walks into the kitchen quietly hoping to sneak in.

"Harry James Potter!" He hears his wife yell from the den. 

She comes into view as he is pushing the buttons on the microwave to heat up the food Ginny put in there. He looks at her face and he knows she is quiet angry.

"Where in the name of Merlin have you been?!" She all but yells.

"I was at the office. Greg loaded Ron and I with paperwork. I was working on it. I lost track of time." Harry explains.

When he says paper work Ginny's face falls, "You were given another field mission, weren't you?"

"Yeah. It shouldn't take to long though. Just a few escaped prisoners." Harry says heating his food up.
