I love seeing their concentration and different expressions on people's face when they're  deeply emerged in a book. It just satisfies me that there are other people who have a love for books as much as I do. Other people these days are too busy with their faces stuck into a screen. Whereas books, they give a better view on life, they make you smarter, they have some good advice and just some books are really deep.

Being alone with your feelings is the worst because you have nowhere to run. They're here, dancing in your mind, and all you can do is handle. Sometimes it's better to keep silent than to tell others what you feel. Because it hurts badly when you come to know that they can hear you, but can't understand.

I guess I must have fallen asleep for a couple of hours because I opened my eyes and sun was pouring through the curtains. Then I saw the bay window. I used to go there with my best friend all the time..but now it just brings back memories, and I can't sit there anymore. Then I realised what day it was. Monday. Which means, I have school. Ughhhh. Waking up is easy, but it's getting out of bed that's the real challenge. I rolled over onto my side and fell out of bed. Ouch. I groaned and sat up. My dog was still there from last night. Huh. At least something still cares about me. I checked the time and saw it was 10 to 8. Shoot. I rushed into my clothes and quickly brushed my teeth. I wasn't that hungry so I skipped eating. I looked at myself in the mirror before I   left. I hated what I saw. But that was no surprise. Bags under my eyes, extremely thin. Eh. No one cares so it doesn't matter. I ran out of the door, making sure to lock it behind me. I rushed to school, I'm so lucky it only takes 10 minutes to get to school. 6 if I run fast enough. I got to school just as the bell rung. I rushed inside and went to my locker. The jocks were walking past as soon as I opened it up. They slammed it on my head and they laughed and walked away. I touched the back of my head and pulled my hand back. Blood. I walked to the bathroom and washed the back of my head. I'm used to the pain so it didn't hurt too much.

I walked out of the bathroom, looking down and walking hurriedly and slammed into someone. She squealed and all her books and papers dropped to the floor.
"Crap, I'm so sorry!!" I said

"Hey it's okay." The girl smiled.

She was down on the floor picking up all her papers and I leaned down to help her. Her jacket sleeve had ridden up, and that's when I saw them. Cut marks. She saw me looking and a look of fear shot across her face. She quickly grabbed the paper from my hands and rushed down the hall. I looked back at her but she was gone. I went to my locker, I was already late for homeroom. When I got to my locker I grabbed a pen and book and rushed to class. When I walked in I muttered a sorry I'm late and the teacher nodded for me to go sit down. Then I saw the girl, sitting all by herself, looking so insecure and not sure what to do. I went to my seat which just so happened to be right next to this girl. Then it hit me. I've never seen this girl before. She must be new. I know what it's like. And I know I'm not great at making friends or anything, but I was going to make an effort to try and be her friend. I wouldn't even mention anything about self harm to her or anything. She looked so scared, like a little puppy. I studied her face. She had warm olive skin, with beautiful hazel eyes. Her lips were attractive, a rich tea rose colour, her lashes were long and just beautiful. There was no sign of makeup on her face, meaning she wasn't one of those fake popular girls. She obviously had caught me staring because she had a hint of a smirk playing on her lips.

"Having fun?" She asked.

"Uh"

"It's okay, I am pretty hot if I do say so myself." She have a hair flick and looked back at me.

I burst out laughing and so did she. The teacher was obviously saying something important because she asked

"Ashton, is there something you'd like to share with the class?"
