This is my first diary entry. Like ever. All of my friends know about my "roommate", they quite enjoy her actually, and so do I. Well point is I'm writing this for my future self. Hi future Maree, eat your peas.
So let me just tell you a little bit about my roommate.
I started noticing paranormal activity when I was about 9, so of course I've always been aware of the supernatural. Well like most ghost stories, mine started when I moved into an old apartment building with my mom. Apparently plenty of residents who had stayed there reported never feeling quite alone, that lights would flicker unnecessarily, rooms would feel colder than others, they would hear footsteps, smell things, see things, yadda yadda yadda... Anyway this didn't faze us in the slightest, my mom and I were both very open to staying with a ghost. (As long as it didn't yell "GET OUT" at us while we were trying to take a midnight pee or something.)
So the first few nights were quiet, at the very least. I say "at the very least" because there were a lot of wild animals around almost all the time, so it was never completely silent. Anyway about a week in the activity finally started. I was the first to experience something. I was home alone, my mom had gone out to get some groceries. I was really into video games at the time. Racing games, to be more specific. Don't know why. I was in the middle of a super intense race, a race I just had to win. I was so into it, so into it in fact that I was like those people who lean to the side in real life to try and get their video game character to turn to the side as well. Yeah I was doing that. Well I was winning, the race was almost over, and all of a sudden the TV turns off! It was one of the first times I swore. I was so upset, so annoyed, so caught off guard. I looked around to see why the TV turned off like that. I remember that as soon as I flung myself up off of the floor to investigate I heard a small voice chuckle behind me. I knew it. It was the ghost. I didn't want to make it angry so I didn't call it out, I just gave up on my game and went off to do something else. I told my mom about it but she didn't have much of a reaction.
Later that night I was doing some homework and I remember having a cup of juice on the table with me. Instead of doing my work like I was supposed to, I was watching TV. Spooky ghost didn't like procrastinating little me, I guess. I was enjoying the show, whatever it was, and all of a sudden my juice falls over and spills directly on my homework! I was frustrated. Again. The ghost got me. Again. I remember my mom being startled at first because she thought it was me who did it, then I guess she saw the angry look on my face and knew who the culprit was. She thought it was funny, she says...
Well that's the story of my first night meeting my roommate. She hasn't done anything remarkable yet today, just the usual bumps, knocks, chuckles, etc. etc... I'll update later when she does something cool!
