Marie pov Can you believe it? I've lived in this orphanage all my life and i have never been outside. Even though im only five but still. Okay lets get back to the point. It was a quarter to 8 in the morning and nobody was up at this time. This was my opportunity to go see the outside and explore the city. I looked out my window and looked down. My room was on the 3rd floor. I took a deep breath and jumped out the window landing into a bush. A thorn bush. I winced in pain as i got out the bush with cuts and scrapes on my arms and legs. No serious injuries. I was just walking staring at my cold, bare feet, when i bumped into a tall man.

I was walking from the store from buying more cola, when I bumped into a little girl who looked five or six. Her clothes were ripped and messed up and she was bare foot. Her hair was medium length and very messy. She looked dirty and homeless. I felt bad for her. "Im sorwwy sir pweez dont hit me!" she said as she backed away from me. "Why would i hit you?" i asked in confusion. "Because youre the adult and im the mistake" she said as she took another step back. I truly felt bad for her. "Where are your parents" i asked. "I dont gots parents, i live in the orphanage". I wanna adopt her. "What is your name?" i asked while smiling. "My name is mari-" she was cut of by a lady grabbing her arm roughly and dragging her back to where she came from.
Marie pov
My heart dropped to my stomach as the woman from the orphanage came and grabbed me before i could finish talking. When we got back she threw me in my room and screamed "NO FOOD FOR YOU TODAY". I just hugged my knees and cried until i fell asleep.
