"Addi?"
Addison turned her head sideways at mOe. "Yes, Avery? Is something wrong?"
I opened my mouth to speak, but quickly shut it when no words could find their way out. I shook my head slightly, not sure what to think or do.
"Who were you talking there?" Levi asked from behind me.
"Oh you heard us? That was Mr. Winchester, he is a very nice man. He told me he wanted to be my friend!" Addison said excitedly, completely oblivious to the alarmed look on my face.
Is this just all a part of her imagination? But if the person wasn't actually real, then why would we hear his voice too? & why would there be an imprint on my bed...
"Oh Mr. Winchester! I've never met him, but I've heard he's a very good man. How did you meet him?" Levi pushed past me to sit next to Addison.
What is he doing?
"Well I met him this morning after my meeting with the nurses. I was lost trying to find Avery, & he saw me & helped me out."
Levi smiled, still going along with Addison's story. "Yeah, that sounds a lot like him. Why don't you tell him that Avery & I want to meet him sometime?"
Addison nodded her head & giggled, hugging Levi from the side. "I am so glad my friends want to be friends!"
Once Addison let go, Levi stood up & headed towards the door. "Well I shouldn't stay very long now. I'll see you two tomorrow, okay?"
I gave a simple nod of my head in reply.
As he walked by, Levi whispered in my ear, "meet me outside your room at 1A.M., I want to talk."
His words sent shivers down my spin & I could feel my heart's pace quicken. Without waiting for a reply, Levi walked out of the room, closing the door behind him.
Sighing, I walked over to my bed & sat down. My body felt stiff from head to toe, I was still anxious from the exchange between Addison & the man.
Addison must have noticed something was wrong because she gave me a concerned look. "Avery, are you okay? You seem a bit paler than usual."
"I don't think I could be any paler than I am normally," I tried to say jokingly, "but yes, I am okay."
Addison gave me a sincere smile & laid back in her bed. "You know, I think I could actually grow to love this place. It is really not as bad as I originally thought."
I hum in agreeance before turning over on my side to face the wall. The day's events had chewed me up & spit me out, sipping out all of the energy I had left. Before my mind could protest, my eyes shut & I fell asleep.
* * *
A slight tapping noice broke me from my sleep, & I shot up in my bed in a panic. After a few more moments of silence, a noise sounded at the door yet again.
Levi.
I slipped out of bed as quietly as I could & slid a pair of shoes on my feet before heading towards the door.
When I opened it, Levi stood there with his hand up like he was about to knock again. A smile found his face when his eyes laid on me. "Hey there Doll Face, what took you so long? It's past 1 already."
"Well I'm not exactly Father Time, how was I supposed to know?" I said while rubbing the grogginess out of my eyes.
"Well there's no time to waste now, let's get a move on." Levi gestures for me to walk with him.
