The Wall

I thought it was going to be an ordinary day.

I don't think I could've been so wrong. It started like any other, but I was horrified of how it just might end.

I'm just an average 16 year old boy. I have acne, struggle in school, and girl troubles.

Now I have some kind of power. How much sense does that make? Everything was so normal until school was over, normal for me anyway.

Casey: your typical bully, give me you lunch money, do my homework, all that good crap.

He's been torturing me since the 7th grade. I never should have called him dumb, but the truth hurts right ? Yeah, the truth has been hurting me for the past 5 years.

I usually leave before he gets to me, today I stayed late. Why did I stay late? I shouldn't have.

I do have a speed advantage though. Until, he trapped me. It was a dead end.

A dead end, but it seemed as if it went on forever. I could see everything, good and bad, pain and laughter, mystery and tragedy.

It ended at the wall, but continued forever. It was where life stops and everything else continues. I had the feeling Casey didn't see as I did,

"What are you staring at punk?"

"Um..."

"Whatever, your beating is overdue"

He took some steps toward me, raising the huge fists the cause me blood and bruises. I was ready.

I clenched my fists. The extended ones before me stopped inches from my face. Everything stopped.

A translucent force enveloped me, knocking Casey to the ground. He scrambled to his feet and ran off.

I had bigger problems.

What just happened? Did I do that? It happened so fast and seemed so unreal.

...Was the wall protecting me?
