"We don't meet people by accident. They are meant to cross our path for a reason."

After about an hour of math Chase finally sits back and sighs. "How much work does that damn teacher expect us to do?"

I shrug and continue writing down the equation. Chase stares at me as I finish the last problem on my paper. Finally I can't take it anymore.

"What?" I ask looking up at him. He smiles and shakes his head. I turn back to my paper confused when he finally speaks up.

"When do you have to be back home?" I glance back up at him startled.

"Wh-what?" I stutter. He smiled at my obvious discomfort.

"I want to show you something." He says wrapping his calloused fingers around my wrist. I nod at him and he pulls me from my seat, heading towards the woods behind the library.

As we walk I wonder where the hell he is taking me. It's hard to think with his fingers twined through mine. The heat coming off of them is too distracting. I shake my head. What is wrong with me? We just met!

We walk about a mile into the woods when my teeth start too pound.

We walk some more.

And more.

And more.

"Ow!" I exclaim as I feel a sharp shooting pain in my two teeth. I touch the teeth and feel sharp point that we're not there before. Chase turns around and smiles at me and-

His teeth are just the same!

And his eyes. Instead of lovely blue eyes, his eyes are a neon yellow and vertical. I did see something in the hallway that day! I knew it! But what does it mean? What is going on?

Chase sucked in a breath as he looked into my eyes. "You are one of us." He whispered. I look into his vertical pupils confused.

When he broke out of his daze, he grabbed my hand. "C'mon it's almost time!" He said. We broke into a run and ran for probably another twenty minutes.

When we finally stopped we were at the other side of the woods. A couple feet in front of me the ground dipped forming a cliff. Off in the distance you can clearly see the full moon.

When I glance at the moon I wince as as shooting headache trickles into my skull. I fall to the ground in pain and cry out. Chase rushes over and grabs my shoulders. "It'll be okay Ryan." He says calmly. "It'll be over quickly."

He continues to hold my shoulders as I feel a few tears fall down my face. I remember one time in Greek Mythology class we learned the because Zeus had eaten his wife and, at the time, unborn daughter, when his daughter was born she demanded on coming out by going up to Zeus' brain and punching it for hours until he couldn't stand it. I now know how he felt.
