Hello. My name is Rachel, a 16 year-old student from Italy. Since I was 12, I have been learning different languages and my knowledge of English is quite good. I think I am more into my studies than anything else. It is difficult for me to talk about love, as I haven't met anyone who could just inspire me to love and to try to discover what it is about, but one day it will be different...
The first day it all changed
"I truly believed I would not get that scholarship to travel to the other part of the world, but it happened..."
Rachel was afraid of what to expect when she was invited to be part of a three-month exchange program. She obviously was completely amazed and excited that she could not imagine that all was actually happening, but it had become something real.
"Who am I to deserve this exceptional opportunity?", thought Rachel, but it incredibly turned into tears of happiness. Rachel was able enough to tell her best friend Grace what she had accomplished.
"OMG, I did it!", said Rachel in tears. Grace thought something was going wrong, she couldn't hear what Rachel was saying. "What happened, who died?", said Grace really worried.
All the class had been wondering why Rachel had been called by the director when unexpectedly Rachel came back and seem to be a little bit sad. The English teacher was trying to catch again the attention of the class. However, Rachel was stood up and in tears! Someone asked what had happened when she finally told everybody that she had been selected to take part of the exchange program that their school offers to its best students.

It was the 15th July, 2014 when I knew I would take part of the exchange program to the UK. In my country, there are many opportunities for students who are interested in foreign languages such as English or German. Nowadays, living in Switzerland is quite expensive, so winning an all-paid scholarship is such a honour. I am extremely excited and at the age of 17 it is incredible to achieve something like this.
I really hope to meet new friends, but in terms of love I would rather stay away from that. It seems a little bit weird, but I am not looking forward to having a girlfriend. It is much more important to study, isn't it?
