I walked down the stairs towards the buses, "yeah, my sister had a super violent dream once, she told me about it, and it was scary." Julia said.
Only if you knew what I dreamt.
"Yeah, I sometimes get those too... They are pretty scary, well, see ya!" I opened the door to outside of my high school and began walking towards the buses. I spotted Eric and tried waving, but he just looked down at the ground.
Man, I wish he wouldn't be such a drama queen and just be friends with me, geez.
I pulled up a headphone and shoved it in my ear. I lost myself in the music, and tried to forget about everything. I turned and got on my bus and spotted Eric and my friend Gabriel. "Hey drama queens!" I joked as I fell down into a seat. They both just rolled their eyes and continued discussing the drama of Eric and his supposably girlfriend who is, but isn't his girl. "Geez, no sense of humor." I pulled my legs up onto the seat and leaned against the window. My thoughts drifted to Psychology, the last class of the day, we all had to introduce ourselves, and talk about what we like to do. "I don't like going out much, but I love music, and writing." I had said. "Any favorite writers?" my teacher, Mrs. Morgan, had asked. "Umm, I like J.K. Rowling, and Rick Riordan."
I was mad that I couldn't remember the author of the Book Thief, because he was my real favorite, but standing up in front of all those people made me forget about everything I ever knew. The truth was, I loved Rowling and Riordan, but I mostly just admired their sense of creativity of being able to compose a world so beautiful, and then have an amazing plot that so beautifully weaved through that world to go with it.
"Allie! Are you even listening?!" Gabriel yelled. "Hmm? Oh, sorry. Just thinking about stuff."
Wow. Such a poet.
Shut up.
Gabriel then kept on babbling about how her crush never pays attention to her, and how she will forever be alone, even though everyone knows fully well that he would ask her out any day, but refuses to date until she's 16. Which reminded me of who I like. Ahh dang it, I promised myself I wouldn't think about him today. I just couldn't help it! Everytime I see Will, I feel like a complete idiot. I feel as if I should just run and hide in a dark corner or something!
"Allie? You still there?!" Gabriel giggled.
"Yeah, sorry."
"Got anybody of your own on your mind?" She pryed.
I hadn't told Gabriel about Will, and I hadn't planned on it, but then, she got the best of me.
"Yeah, I am kinda crushing on someone right now."
"AHH! AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME?! Alright, I forgive you if you spill."
"Ugh, I can't tell you!"
"Why not?" she demanded.
"Because I know... Okay don't be mad, but I know you won't be able to keep it a secret."
At the word secret, my friend Lara popped up from the seat in front of me and pulled out an earphone.
"Spill." She demanded.
"AH! No! I can't tell you!"
"WHY NOT?!" they yell.
"Because then, everytime I see him you guys will like, look at me and like, wink and elbow me and stuff. Ugh, it would just suck a lot. It would make me even more nervous when he's around, because you guys would know, and just... AH!"
I curled up in a ball and just grunted of frustration.
"C'mon girl, you have to tell us now!" Gabriel encouraged.
"Okay, okay." I sighed. "I'll just give you like, a clue. I see him every A-day."
"Is he in one of your classes?" she questioned.
"No. I just see him every A-day."
"What? That makes no sense. Is it Eric?" she looked over at Eric, who was clearly lost in his music, banging on his imaginary drum set.
"NO! Aw, heck nah. No. Way. Never." I insisted.
Lana then leaned over and whispered, "Is it Will?"
Ah, crap.
"Yeah." I nodded, guilty.
"OKAY NOW YOU HAVE TO TELL ME!!!" Gabriel screamed.
"Okay, but you have to keep a secret okay? You swear?"
"Yeah, yeah, who is it? Ah, who is it?!"
"Okay, okay, okay." I leaned over and whispered, "It's Will."
"AHHH! Aw, that's so great!" she looked down nervously at her phone and picked at the corner of her phone.
"What? You don't like him do you?" I asked, panicked.
"Oh nonononono. I just know somebody who does."
"Okay, you can tell me. I bet she's got a better chance anyway." I muttered.
"Aw, you know that's not true."
"Well, you've gotta tell me now."
"Okay." she shuffled over and leaned into my ear, "It's Beth."
"Oh." Beth is just that one person who is unafraid to express herself, and has amazing confidence.
"Then I really don't have a chance." I mumbled.
"No, that's not true." Gabriel defended, but her tone told me she either pitied me, or she agreed with me. Maybe that was just my anxiety kicking in.
"Well, I just hope I don't get in her way." I confessed. That's when I looked back and saw Will's best friend, Rico.
Aw, crap. Crapcrapcrapcrapcraaaaaaaaaap! He probably thinks that I like him! Or, now he knows that I like Will! Now he just thinks I'm another one of those girls who just drape themselves all over Will!! PANIC!!!
"Well, my life just got I whole lot more dramatic."
"You got that right." Gabriel sighed.
"Welcome to my life." Lana laughed.
