"You only have a year to live."
That was the first thought that came inside my mind when I heard what he said.
Really.
But I'm serious. I'd rather die happy than die without even trying that mind-boggling heavenly experience.
Pero sino? Kanino? Paano? Kailan at saan?
All the perfect boys are in books. No. Not that perfect. But almost perfect. Yes, some of them are fucked up but they know how to value their women and how to dote on them.
And the second thought that came inside my mind? I'm gonna live my remaining life as lazy and full as I can. Lazy starts with letter L so from Davao, I went to Manila and about to go to Laguna. I'm gonna live there for the meantime.
Although his actions were unjustifiable and he's the most fucked-up character the author have created, I still love him.
My forehead creased as I stood on my feet. Camera flashes everywhere. It was kind of blinding but they didn't stop what they were doing.
"Ms. Keira Tokugawa, please look at the camera!"
Mapa-babae man, bakla o lalaki. And some reporters are here, too. It was as if there's a celebrity in front of them because of the fuss they were making.
"Sinong Keira? Kazhe Tokugawa?"
She cleared her throat, cracked her knuckles and started talking gibberish. "Tokugawa's are one of the richest family here in the Philippines. Kasabayan nila ang mga Du, Montecillo, Lionheart, Tsubaki at Ichiwara. And Kenzai Court, their company is just a small designing company back then. But they made it an empire! And now, it makes an acquisitions with an industry groups and affiliated companies have been a significant news in financial market. Sa madaling salita, Tokugawa's have the looks, money and fame!" She let out a dreamy sigh. "Kilala sila ng lahat! Mapa-bata, matanda, babae, lalaki o bakla.
She stopped talking when I didn't make any response. She let out an irritated sigh and said, "Wow, 'te!
She faked a gasp and said again, "Wow, 'te!
The elevator doors were about to close when a hand suddenly stuck in and made the doors part again.
Laughters and voices filled the elevator. And a faint masculine scent wafted through my nose. I lifted my head and my eyes went up, and up. The one standing next to me was a tall guy. My head only reached his chest.
I didn't know how to describe my feelings upon seeing a man this good-looking for the first time. Although it was just a side-profile but it was still goodlooking. From that angle, I saw that he had a light mole at the corner of his right eye. It was like the finishing touch, too sexy to be ignored.
And his expressions... If I had insisted on describing it, I would have said that he was like a tranquil valley—quiet, serene and remote. He really looked like he came from a book.
I never thought that my poetry and language skills were this exquisite. I thought sarcastically. Too much reading novels made me this poetic.
I watched his slender fingers gracefully and rapidly typing on the phone. After a few seconds, he finished typing and put it away in his pocket.
"Sino 'yon?
I jerked my eyes away from him and straightened my posture. While waiting, I stared blankly at the people inside the elevator. We were only eight, two women including me and six guys.
"Hoy, Kazhe Tokugawa, sumagot ka nga!" Natatawang sabi ng isa.
The man beside me grunted in response but didn't say anything. My forehead creased. Where did I hear that name? Oh, right. Sa airport nga pala. Bumalik ang tingin ko sa kaniya. It was that life-taking angle again. Under the lighting inside the elevator, the mole by his right eye was simply bewitching.
The door opened and the people in front of me started walking out of the elevator.
I felt like I muddled my head because when he was about to go out, I suddenly grabbed his arm. He looked impatient but he didn't say anything.
"You are Kazhe Tokugawa, right?" Tumaas ang kilay niya. "Are you willing to pop my cherry? Ah no—what I mean is, you need to pop my cherry."
