Callum Airey walked into the restaurant and acquired his reserved two seater table. He sat down and waited patiently for Jenna to arrive. Eventually she did and when she walked into the room Cal's jaw dropped. He'd already seen the snapchat photo but she looked even more beautiful in person. He stood up when she approached and he kissed her cheek when she stopped in front of him. They sat down, Cal had already ordered wine for them both.
"You look gorgeous," Callum comments and Jenna grins.
"Thank you, you don't look too bad yourself," She replies and Callum and her share a small toast- to their 1st anniversary.
Afterwards they order their starter which is a shared platter. They make light conversation about their year together and finally the meal arrives. Before they begin they order their main meal and Jenna notices that Cal looks rather tense.
"You okay?" She asks and Cal nods.
"Just a bit hot is all," He replies and Jenna nods.
"It is quite warm," She adds before they finally begin their starter.
Once thats done the waiter clears the table and refills their wine glasses for them.
Another 10 minutes and their main course is in front of them. Jenna talks to Cal about her father and how well he's settled into London life, and proceeds to ask some questions about Cal's family, which are answered in detail between forkfuls of food.
Cal finishes his food before Jenna, most likely out of nerves. He tended to speed up the action he was doing when he was nervous. Jenna finishes and Callum stands up.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Jenna asks and Cal nods.
"Get up, please?" Cal asks and Jenna does as he wishes, she stands up and looks at Callum with furrowed eyes.
"I pictured this so many ways in my head, but I think the best thing for me to do, is to just do it," Cal says before he gets down on one knee.
Jenna looks at him with widened eyes as he takes her left hand, his other hand taking the box from his pocket. His fingers leave hers and he opens the box to reveal a diamond ring.
"Jenna Fox, will you do the honour of marrying me?" Callum asks and Jenna nods, her eyes glistened with tears.
"Callum Airey, the honour would be all mine," She says and Callum springs up, pressing his lips against hers.
A round of cheers and claps come from the other people in the restaurant and Jenna grins as Callum places the ring on her finger.
"I think champagne is in order," Says the waiter and he walks off to get some. Cal and Jenna retake their seats and they smile and mouth thank yous to the other restaurant customers.
"I love you more than life itself," Callum says and Jenna smiles.
"I love you too Cal," Jenna says and the waiter arrives with two champagne flutes and the bottle of sparkling liquid.
"To Mr Airey and future Mrs Airey," The waiter says and the couple hit their glasses before taking a sip of their drinks.
"You know how I called you up before, and we talked about space and shit," Cal says and Jenna nods.
"Well I mentioned Dark Matter. I'd like you to know, that I no longer feel like I'm the Dark Matter of this planet, because you made me feel noticed, you made me feel like I was alive again. You are my life Jenna, and I can't wait to spend the rest of it with you,"
