They stepped into the sitting room, and Corvus was immediately pulled into an embrace. It took mere seconds for him to notice the regal black curls of hair and lean build that was his godfather.
"Sirius?" Corvus asked, almost wincing at the pleading note of his own voice.
"It's me, pup," Sirius' told him energetically, still not removing his arms from around his godson.
"I'm so glad you're okay," Corvus whimpered slightly, his own arms encircling Sirius' waist and hugging him with just as much need as the man was hugging him with. A need to know that the other felt the same longing for the other while they were apart, to know the other understood the reasons for being apart and a need to make sure the other hadn't met any harm along the way.
When they pulled apart Sirius grinned down at the true face of his beloved godson, only to have him glaring daggers up at him.
"You scared the bloody hell out of me," Corvus said lowly, followed by him beating at his godfathers chest as the man tried to pull him into another hug.
"Let go of him, Padfoot," Remus told the man gently, placing a hand on Sirius' shoulder.
"But he's hitting me, Moony," Sirius whined childishly.
"And you deserve it," he answered sternly.
"Uncle Remus!" Aquila grinned brightly as she made her way over to the trio.
"Hello, cub," Remus smiled down at her, giving her a tight hug.
It was the long awaited reunion of loved ones, and it was a moment of peace in the world where everything seemed to line up nicely. Loose ends we're tied up and smiles we're exchanged, the universes uttered a sigh in relief.
But there was much worse to come and this peace wouldn't last long, only long enough to prepare for the hell that awaited their arrival once they stepped foot on Hogwarts soil.

I'm very sorry for not updating this sooner, I've just been so swamped with everything that's been going on in my personal life these past few months, and I promise I will continue to make the effort to at least post something for you guys, but it might take some time before I begin to update more regularly. I'm also sorry that this update was so short but I just really couldn't find a way to start the next part and I wanted you to get this as soon as possible.
