I was standing in a field of white flowers, the kind that glowed under the moons light. There was a small breeze that whipped out my hair, making it fly out behind me. I was still in my beach dress but it was dry and where I was did not resemble much of a beach. I looked around, wondering what this place was and why I felt so calm. I had just been thrown over the edge of a jetty, or should I say, stabbed and then thrown. Kyle had made it clear he wanted me dead and he had tried every effort to make sure it happened. He had hurt Alex and his goons had blocked the others for reaching me. I had no idea what had happened with them and if Kyle had hurt them. He was sure that with me gone, his plans would start to work. I was fearful of what plans he had and why I had always been in his way.
"Racheal...." a voice spoke. I turned around in surprise. It was Gabe. He was standing there before me, looking scared, but also pleased. Was he dead to? Had they killed my friends, those that I could not save? Gabe stepped closer, holding out a hand to me. His eyes were trusting, but I was scared, scared of where he wanted me to go. "Please, don't be scared Racheal, trust me, please." Gabe begged. Once again it was like somebody else was reading my thoughts. I watched him, saw him look down as if thinking about something and then look at me again. In that moment, everything about him seemed to change. He went from normal Gabe, to a whole different person, but yet still the same. His blonde hair glowed like the flowers, and his figure seems to grow bigger and stronger. I watched stunned, in disbelief, as if my mind had already known it, but sense had not allowed me to think it. It was like Gabe was an Angel, and in fact, the way he looked now, I would not have been surprised if he was. "Come with me and we can explain everything." he offered, still holding out his hand. "We do not have much time left, Racheal, please. Please come with me now." he begged.
It was the first time I had seen Gabe look so upset and yet so mystical and perfect at the same time. Every time he was around I had always felt better and he had always seemed more serious than most people. It was like even though he looked like a teenager, he was many many more years older than his body allowed to be seen. My mother always told me not to trust an older man, she had said my father had been an older man and when he had learned she was carrying a child, he had suddenly left, without a word, without any reasoning. My mother had been so burnt by that, but she loved me no different.
MY MOTHER!
If I was gone, if I was dead and this was some form of Heaven, then what was I going to do. What was she going to do. She almost lost it last time, this would destroy her. I felt a single tear roll down my cheek and looked to Gabe, reaching out a hand to take his. He smiled at me calmly and instantly I felt like something was pulling me. Not in that sickening feeling that I got when Kyle was around, but in a much calmer, gentler way, like everything was going to be ok.
I gasped, I felt like water was in my chest all of a sudden, and I coughed it up, turning my head to spit it out. The flowers were gone and through the fog of my eyesight, I could see sand in front of my face. I did not get it. One second I am in a calm place and now all of a sudden I was in a worth of pain again and shivering as if I was sitting on a block of ice. "She's ok. She'll be fine." I heard a voice speak. I felt something grab me and I hissed in pain. My head was spinning and I felt severely sick, enough that I actually felt it hit my stomach, then my chest and then finally as I faced the sand, came out. I was gasping for breath again between the vomits and the pain in my side. "Racheal, can you hear us?" I heard Abby's voice. Once the sick feeling was finally gone, I looked up, into the face of my friend, who looked scared and worried. "Alex! What happened to Alex!" I asked fearing the worse. He was there, stepping forwards and giving me a calming smile. It looked like he had a cut lip and a small bruise under his eye, but other then that, he was ok. In fact, they all looked ok, like Kyle had not touched them at all, as I had been thinking he would.
