New family

I sat in my room, looking up at the ceiling I knew so well. Only mom (it was still weird to call her that) came in. She sang for me at night and told me when food was ready. I felt like she was my actual mom I've had since I was born.

I usually wondered into the library and read or stayed locked up in my room. I was locked in my room by Lucius when death eaters except family came over. That meant aunt Bella and uncle Rodolphous.

Auntie Bella was nice to me, mostly. Uncle Rodolphous ignored me and talked to Lucius. Mom talked to auntie Bella. So I was left to sit quietly reading or talk to Draco. I usually just read. I learned that Auntie Bella escaped azcaban with a lot of other wizards and that they were going to stay here. I sighed. I was going to be locked in my room until term started.

I was reading on my bed when mom came in. I looked up.
"Hey mom." She teared up.
"I still can't believe you call me that. I understand why you don't call Lucius dad, but why me?"
"As I told you, it seems more fitting. Your nice to me, he isn't."
"I love you." She hugged me tight.

"I love you too." She began to sing as she let go. It was my favorite lullaby. I began to drift off to sleep as I closed my eyes. Soon, I could here no more.
